I guess most of us leave the pin feathers near the eyes and ears alone. Its a bonus when you have a bonded pair because they take care of each others in those areas. I caught Tango being groomed by Kobe at the auricular feathers protecting the ear. This action stimulates Tango to open and close her beak. Take a look -

I just twiddle my fingers and Casper moves his head to the bit he wants sorted. He lets me know soon enough if I've been careless enough to hurt him or, more likely, was just about to. :th_smile:

Great video, Dianne! Amigo and Sassy allow us to massage/crack their feathers around their ears and head. The cockatiels not so much but when I have them out together they are becoming more friendly with each other and I think just a matter of time till the touchy feelies start :)

Stupid me... I didn't realise it was a video. They are sooo cute. Casper LOVES having his ears tickled.

Soo sweet. I love seeing them together. Rosie yawns when I preen her ears as well.
