Hi guys I'm a fellow bird-lover, I have a 10 year old galah named 'Vossey', which I rescued as a baby & a 3 month old galah named 'Delvis' that my friend breed & gave to me.I been on line searching for a good parrot web site & decided this was a good one. What motivated was ,that to my shock, somehow 'Vossey' broke of her top beak yesterday,it appears to be back to the nostrils. I stopped the bleeding & keep him inside all nite and i don't know what to do, how or what to feed & I thought somebody might be able to help me as I am very attached to the bird
Thanks barrca

Hello and welcome. Vossey really needs to be checked by an avian vet. It sounds pretty serious. Your bird is most likely in pain and risking infection. Please get Vossey to a vet right away. Do you have any soft foods? Keep him warm until you see the doc.

Your little one needs to see a vet on an emergency basis. Soft foods such as a scrambled egg, foods that would not need much chewing. Please let us know what the vet recommends.

Just to let everyone know I did receive an e mail from this member and Vossey did see a vet and the entire top beak is no longer there. The bird received antibiotics and was home again. I did give this member some nutritional advice as the bird will no longer be able to open seeds or nuts.
