Do you know how much protein you should eat in one day? I had to figure it out for a Renal diet I must be on now. Thought it was interesting. Do you pay attention to your protein intake? Its according to age, height and weight. Here is a calculator. Mine turned out to be 95 gm. per day.

For you guys.. .5 grams of protein per lbs of body weight is probably sufficient.. Unless you're active...cross fit,a weight lifter, runner, football or soccer...then you should consider bringing it up to .75 grams per lbs of body weight..

Your carbs and fats...obviously play an important part in your eating..most people are set up to run carbs as your source of energy..I went keeto so long..and jacked up my thyroid..(too long and no carb cycling) but that's fixed..now i mix it up...

Protein is always around 300 grams.

Carbs will vary from 100 to 500 grams on refeed days..I have to eat like a pig on those days to keep things firing correctly..

Fats will be anywhere from 80 grams to 200 grams..again..depends on if its refeed day..

Now don't get me wrong..though I'm 6'6" and 300lbs..I still have a hard time eating like that..growing up you never could've told me that eating would be hard for me..

And the harder a i push and more i try to grow in muscle mass..the more I have to eat...it suuuuucks .

What the renal diet states is 0.6 gm protein per kg body wt. So I am 64.4 kg. weight. Lets take a chicken for example. How does one know the protein content because I do not think the amount of protein is on the label and besides we usually do not sit down and eat a whole chicken.

Next is Potassium. Limited to 2000 to 3000 mg. per day. I just try to limit it instead of counting. Many juices are rich with potassium.

Next is Sodium. 1500 to 2000 mg. per day. No more potato chips.

Next is Phosphorus. 800 to 1000.

My no no list is hard to swallow - nuts, melons, apricots, bananas, cheese, mango, prunes, blackeye peas, cream soups, instant mixes of any kind, lima beans, raisins, relish, pickles and nothing with tomatoes (pizza)
Not a fun diet.
