Charlie (Wingman) and I took our daughter to the zoo this week to see the lights. As we were walking, we kept hearing this screaming. Charlie decided to go check out who was making this noise ( we knew it was a bird of some kind) and Heather & I continued for her to see Santa. When he caught up to us He said it was Rosie (he thought of you Kendra) Here are a couple of pictures I was able to take. They are not great since it was dark out

I love the picture of Heather with Santa!! It looks like Heather is going to get her Xmas wish. :)
If the GW was screaming, Charlie could have been right. Especially this week. Rosie has been very vocal both when she is happy and unhappy. Thinking she may have caught the Xmas Crazies from my daughter. :)

That zoo cage looks a bit dire. Was the Macaw on it's own?

No 3 of them in front of the aviary one was under the heat lamp in back .hard to see since it was night time.
Aww, maybe the Macaw wanted to see Santa too. Perhaps he/she was able to hear the excitement of all the evening visitors and wanted them to see how beautiful she/he was too.
Lovey pic of Heather and Santa and of course the Macaw.

Bird looks unhappy to me. Calling for a mate?

I like Alice's thought.
If they were unhappy, maybe they were telling all the dopey humans to go home. Don't they know the sun is down and it's bed time?? Birds need their beauty sleep after all. ;)

They didn''t seem sad, when I walked over to the cage the gw came over from the side almost like they wanted to interact and be talked to. Now when I started to walk over to where the other one was and say a word or two to him then the one I called Rosie hacked a scream at me that was loud! So maybe it was like a bit of jealousy like hey you are supposed to talk to me.????
