Boiled 4 eggs , cut up a nice big juicy gala apple without peeling left on, I always throw out the peelings and diced thoroughly, crushed eggs with shell into a pulp, mixed eggs and diced tiny apple together then sprinkled reg seed sporadicly in it served it while it was still warm!!! Rio went to town along with all the rest of the fids. Those proteins and extra nutrients should help those babies grow right along. Think we will call this Rio's Apple softie !!!!

Hey maybe we could all wright a PreciselyParrots CookBook? What do you think?

Very nice!!!

I would love to read all the recipes!!!

Rosie has what I call sensory issues. She cannot stand anything that is not hard and crunchy. Anything soft touching her beak seems to disgust her. Lots of head shaking and beak wiping. So I don't do a whole lot of cooking for her. :(

I am cooking some small beans this morning to include in birds chop. Then have never had them before so will have to see. Rio is setting a good example for her babies to follow.

Casper's 2nd best friend

Cooking for one isn't really practical but Casper does sometimes get a bit of porridge at breakfast and some of our supper if it is suitable. Sweet potato, cooked carrots etc. He will sometimes invade uninvited and dive into our's. He gets confused when we use the pasta plates with leaves printed on though, and tries to pick the leaves. So do I when we use them for salad.
The vet has told us not to give him too much protein but he does love a bit of fish as a treat.
Feeding chicken or eggs to parrots seems a bit cannibalistic to me. Tell me I'm wrong.
I like the idea of a parrot recipe book, I used to work in advertising and print production so if we wanted to publish I could handle that.

Cooking for one bird does leave quite a bit of leftovers. If it's not suitable for freezing then the outside birds get the leftovers. Lady likes to eat from my plate too. I use a paper plate and yes sometimes with designs, she will try to pick the design up to eat, if she can't get it she will chomp the side of the plate.

A recipe thread or cook book sounds interesting, I would love some new ideas.
