This Made Me Sick

I have a bad habbit of reading CL pet section for Maryland every morning. This morning I saw an ad on CL that really upset me. So much so I would not even give this person the benefit of a posting in the re-home forum. It shows a photo of an African Grey and a man holding this bird. He is asking to trade the bird for an Amazon Gift Card!! I was wondering if this ad is posted in other states too, Most likely a hoax. At least I hope so.

Maybe he wanted to trade it for an Amazon Parrot but spellchecker thought it knew better. :th_biggrin:

That's most likely a scam..I had some people approach us that were trying to rehome some gw macaws and a blue n gold...free..save for the price of shipping and all the other stuff it would take to get em out of Hawaii and to a good home...I looked into it...scam...I shut em down quickly..

But I've seen gc's and all sorts of birds for trade for gift cards..common in our Craigslist..

It's not intended to work..its intended to rip you off..AFAIK

I've seen similar postings for other pets on cl including willing to trade a dog/cat/bird whatever pet it is for an ipad/purse/cellphone.
