I have the vision plastic nesting box and it would not fit the outside of my cage without making cage modifications which I do not want to do. I placed this box inside the cage for about 2 months and there was very little interest at all. Kobe poked his head inside a few times but never went inside. I think he may not have understood how to get back out as it was quite a drop. This box is not going to work. There is a door on either side of the cage up high for a nesting box. My questions are: 1. How does the average nesting box get attached? 2. Which type should I get? 3. Should the door be removed to attach a box? (see photos of door) 4. Do I put some kind of steps or landing inside the box so its not such a steep drop to get inside or back out?

This is what the nesting box looks like in the pet stores: I see no way to attach it to the outside of the cage.

Maybe look up the cage brand and then look up nesting boxes that are capable to fit that cage brand???? Could be worth a try.
