They are so cute!! They look like they are having a great time.

How old are they? Has it taken them a long time to become friends?

The Jardine is 3 months and the Hawk head is 10wks. They're only babies. But they had a bad start because my idiot bf put them together day 1 I brought the HH home. She was only 6wks then. She(HH) flew to his cage to see him(Jardines) yesterday and it was touch and go. I had to interfere here and there and now today they've got it all worked out under my supervision and are now friends :)

Thank you! Me to! I am 25yrs young. None of my birds will outlive me :) which is a good thing. If any thing I plan to put in my will that they go to a sanctuary.

Charlie is thought to be in her 40s or older. She was a wild caught long ago. She went through an abusive home or home(s) before I got her from a rescue who just gave her to me because of her aggressive temperament. They couldn't even get her out of the dog crate! So she lived in it. I took her to my vet after getting her and found out due to the poor nutrition she received and lack of TLC her health is not well. I hope to keep her forever but she's only estimated another 10 years at most which would make me 35years old, but I am hoping for 40 more years!:th_biggrin: I love my Charlie with all my heart not another could be like her, not another could replace her. I swell up in tears just thinking about her passing. She's so much more than just a companion. My other birds I love them, I spoil them, they get regular vet visits like Charlie but neither of them hold a candle to Charlie.

They are on a diet of vegetables mainly greens, blueberries, any berry really, eggs, and Roudy Bush. Supplemented with Lafabers vitamins as well as palm oil. I get creative and mix it in their foods. For example when I scramble them eggs I use palm oil:th_smile:

Two of my guys are at least in their 40's... they've been with me since the early 80's and they're both wild caughts as well. I absolutely dread the thought of losing any one of my four cherished companions :'(

It's wonderful that Charlie somehow made her way to you and is now receiving the love and care she has always deserved. And you're right... each one of them is an irreplaceable, unique personality and soul. I cherish each of my feathered family members and I can't bear to think of one of them leaving this planet before me. Nor can I bear to think of myself departing before any of them, since that would leave them at the mercy of the decisions from others who can never know and love them as I do

I too hope Charlie has more than 40 years left with you!

UPDATE - no longer are they friends. Hawk head is exhibiting her natural behavior toward my other feathered companions - aggressiveness. It's unfortunate but was expected. Can't take the instincts out of the bird lol :)

Poor Jardine, He's been dumped by his new girlfriend. Not good for the ego.

Lol it'll make him think twice next time before choosing a such a wild card :) hehe

I'm not worried about them tolerating one another. I have a blood feud between the macaw and Amazon. The sun conure dislikes every bird. The Hawk Head is becoming bird aggressive. The Jardines bites all other bird toes and claims their toys .. What's another bad relationship between my birds going to do lol. I'm used to it! Haha :)
I am very super careful with who's out and when.

Sounds like you have lots of fun with all those different personalities! I think if I lived in a warm climate all year round and had a large enough space for them I would enjoy having another bird.

I thought the tropics were supposed to be paradise, not a birdy war zone. Have you tried sitting them around the table for some peace talks?

tropics1989

Lol I have but it usually ends in an all out brawl. The tropics here is only the tropics when your away from the birds :) or you just have one at a time.
