I have not. I never even thought of it. Do your birds like them?

Our birds freak over the site of them...when I raised scorpions...they loved em.

There is quite a bit of protein in mealworms. That is why the wild birds eat them but a captive bird does not get that much exercise to need a high amount of protein. I would be careful feeding them to an indoor bird. We have other sources like hard boiled eggs.

What about a bird in a outdoor aviary

I've never heard of feeding birds mealworms, are they alive or dehydrated?

How do you know who gets more flying time a wild bird or an aviary bird. Hard to say. The meal worms come alive or freeze dried, mostly in the fish department in a pet store. I have never seen them for sale for indoor birds.

Because they may be breeding makes a whole lot of sense. Amigo does not like my cooked eggs, he won't eat chicken..total vegetarian and I hope he's getting the protein he needs with the nuts/walnuts he loves.
