Fresh Herbs

We have fresh organic sweet basil, lemon basil and mint growing in the garden. Rosie likes to chew a few leaves when she's in the mood.

Has anyone tried feeding their fids fresh herbs? I love it when she talks afterwards, if you are close enough you can smell the basil or mint. And her cute little tongue turns green.

Oh what a great pic! I see a smile in her eyes. She looks so very happy. I don't have any fresh herbs in my garden and have failed to get any to grow in the many attempts I have tried in the past. Maybe this year I will have another go at it and get a grow light of some sort.

I have tried basil flowers with my Rosie. They generally end up on the floor. She is not a fan of green food items. ;)

That is a prize winner photo! Yes I have tried feeding basil but birds were not too crazy about it. I feed herb salad every day mixed with either hemp or milk thistle seeds. You are lucky to be able to grow fresh herbs. I have to buy them. Basis smells so good!
