I believe PeachyDoll had asked me how she's doing and I want to let you know..she is doing GREAT! She has such a sweet little disposition and I don't know if it's because she is young or that's just the way she is. I moved her into Chips cage because he never really used it except to eat and drink, I moved all his goodies over to the top of her cage.

Chip is in love until it comes time to share his food, then he's a grumpy butt and gives her a hard time so I keep them apart. Until she becomes fully flighted, I will keep her caged unless I'm in the room with them, then I let them be social on top of the cage.

I bring her out, a few times a day, to hang with me around the house. She's gotten real good with stepping up and I'm working on her letting me pet her on the head and neck, she's becoming more tolerant..she might not like it but, she lets me do it :)

My kids call her homely :(. She wasn't the best looking bird in the shop but I know she would never have been taken home without me finding her on the bottom of that cage..it was meant to be, I think she's beautiful and I adore her!

Sounds like a bird loving home for her. Cockatiels are genuinely sweet birds. Do you want them to mate?

Thank you for giving her a good home.

Aww..I couldn't help myself, Birdbabe! :). Dianne, when I brought her home, breeding cockatiels wasn't what I had in mind. If it happens, though, I suppose I'll set them up a nesting box..?..and doing lots of research. Are you planning on raising Linnies? Sounds like you have a breeding pair.

Yay!! I am so happy she is doing well.

We have a dog that is "homely". We still brought her home with us and I think she is so ugly that she is cute. If that makes sense? Not everyone can be a beauty queen on the outside. Thank goodness it's what is on the inside that counts!!!

She is adorable. I just love cockatiel. So very sweet. I took nest box out of cage as they were not interested. Kobe tried to get inside a few times but could not figure out how. Just stuck his head in the hole. Tango is one year in January. I figure if it happens like you will give them what they need.

Mare do you want me to try this photo for sig?

Jellybean is adorable! Absolutely NOT homely. She looks so much better than she did when you brought her home. Amazing what love, great care and friends will do for a girl!! ; )

Aww Mare,

She is a real sweetheart! No wonder Chip is in his glory :). Loving the updates and the siggy looks like a perfect fit.

Thank for the update Mare. I must say I feel like Jellybean's Aunty since you choose my suggested name. She doesn't look homely at all, she's a beautiful girl.

I understand the territorial food thing, When I see Rosie is gorging on something I'll try and take her food bowl away. Last week I gave her a little too much corn on the cob and because she is mostly bald chested I can clearly see her crop over filling, I approached and said that's enough Boo and as I lifted her bowl she grabbed it with her beak and pulled it back and gave me a dirty look. Yikes! Some birds just don't know how to share very well lol.

I am so glad Jellybean is doing well and that Chip is happy. Yah Jellybean in your siggy. Fits perfectly!

Jellybean says, "thanks", Auntie PeachyDoll! :). Yes, they don't share very well, do they?!

Hi Mare,

I'm wondering how Chip and Jellybean are getting along. Do they play together or cuddle? Do you have any photos of them together?

PeachyDoll, Jellybean is doing well, she's such a little sweet pea, thanks for asking :). I took this pic , just now, not very good but I'll try and get some of them on top of the cage today to share. In this pic they are playing with a strip of leather I tied to the cage.

Chip isn't as into her as I had hoped, he likes her ok but most of the time he wants his space and although she would like to be better friends, she tries, he keeps her at a distance. I think Chip might be a lot older than he looks, he reminds me of a grumpy old man. I'm actually thinking of trying to find another young one for her to have better company but still just thinking..haven't mentioned it to Tim yet :)

BWAHAHA I know how JellyBean feels, I am surrounding by grumpy old men. Thank God a banana bread or chocolate chips cookies cures the grumpies most of the time. She's just an adorable little angel.

She is sweet, thanks, PeachyDoll :). Haha! Dianne, Tim's out of town at the moment..might be a good time to sneak one in! Seriously, though, I'm trying to use my head and not my heart on this one. I'll give them a bit more time to grow into each other :)

Hi Mare, How has Jellybean been doing? Is she warming up to you even more?

Mare

Hi, PeachyDoll! Yes, the little girl is always happy to see me in the morning :). I pull her out to put her on my shoulder while I make the mornings meal. Her and Chip yell back and forth for a while but then settle down. She still doesn't like to be touched much but I keep working at it...she does hop right on my hand when offered, though! Chip and her are getting along much better, too. She is very interested in him,,he IS awfully handsome,,and he's starting to come around to the idea of maybe having a companion/possible mate. I have a feeling he's never been around many cute girlie birds before..at first he wasn't sure how to act but he's starting to get in the groove :). Thanks for asking, Auntie!
