Some people only post when they have something relevant to say. Me? - I just drivel on regardless.
Haha! Atta boy, Jean-Pierre!! Me too!

It has been crazy here. I haven't had much time to post. But I like to check in and see how everyone is doing even if I don't have time to comment.

On the forum index page you see we had two people join today but they did not introduce themselves. I left a visitor message.
Dianne, I think that some folks just might be shy, or maybe even gun-shy. I'm very comfortable saying what I say here but only because I feel welcomed. On the last forum I was on, I was judged and attacked and became gun-shy, therefore,,I wasn't comfortable. Let's give folks time to relax :)

Yes I agree. That is why I leave a welcome message.
We have been experiencing an influx of spambot joins lately. The bots will either post blog spam submissions or biography spam submissions. I have been deleting the spam submissions and banning the spambot users. Yesterday there was a huge increase in this activity. Unfortunately, I had to be away almost all day. All of the new members you now see in black text are spambot joins who submitted spam and were thus banned. Consequently, I have changed our human verification method from parrot-related questions to the reCAPTCHA method. That's where human users are required to read and interpret characters from graphical images. Hopefully this method will be more effective against the spambots.
Below is the list of spambot members who have joined within the past 24 hours:

Wow that seems to be a lot. Hope the new method works better.

I was going to ask about this. Why there are so many new members with no posts. This explains it.
I was going to ask about this. Why there are so many new members with no posts. This explains it.It seems the spammers have pretty well crafted their drones to defeat the Google reCAPTCHA challenges. So I did what I was initially going to do... simply changed the questions. And it made a big difference!

I'm just going to list why I haven't been active this summer
Lost Eclipse which was depressing
My dog developed a large growth on his leg which obviously had me worried about him having cancer. Turns out that growth is just a fatty tumor but to remove it will be $1,300. Since it happens to be right on his joint it will need to be removed. I also switched him from Purina One to Blue Buffalo Wilderness (one of their grain free formulas)
I have been having major car issues that have been mostly fixed as of yesterday morning but basically when I was driving my car would just shut off no stalling or anything it would literally just die and wouldn't restart for ATLEAST 30 minutes. Last time it happened it took 5 hours for it to restart. The mechanic also found a nice list of things that need fixing some not so important and possible just out for money however some are very important. The next "fix" will cost almost twice as much as this one.
I have been working 104 hours per pay period (that's AFTER lunch and other breaks are taken out of my total hours) to pay for my dogs vet bill and getting the car fixed.
I got switched from working the 3pm-11pm shift to 11pm-7am shift about two weeks ago
I started school up again last Monday.
Hey there, Robyn. I'm so sorry to hear about the many negatives in your life. It's really sad that Eclipse passed away and the situation with your dog is unfortunate... but at least it's not a malignancy. Life can certainly pummel us with misfortune at times. Please hang in there.

Wow Robyn, I am so sorry you have had such a rough time. And I am so very sorry for your loss of Eclipse. I am sending you lots of good thoughts.
Geez Robyn, what a summer you've had :(. I too am sorry about the loss of Eclipse. Dealing with the stress and worry of your dogs health is difficult as well. I agree with Tony, sometimes life just drops so much on us at once. I'm glad your able to get more hours at work to help with the medical cost and the change in your schedule, at least you will be home earlier, depending on the times your getting those extra hours. I hope things settle down for you soon. Don't forget to take care of yourself too, seems we tend to when we have so much going on. Stay strong!
