In this thread post something your bird/s do that makes you crazy or happy or sad or something.

Whether it be it spits fresh food at you or it makes a huge mess of everything in its cage right after you cleaned the entire cage top to bottom.

Or when the bird screams at you while you are on the phone/door.

Or when the bird flies across the room launching itself on the dining room table and tries to mate with your roast chicken dinner while its laughing maniacally and all the family stare at the bird in horror knowing you aren't going to be eating roast chicken for dinner any time soon. :th_biggrin:

We all have amusing and annoying crazy stories about our birds and their many different behaviors so please share them with us all.

I was telling colbon2 (Nikki) earlier, that SPX the wonder idiot budgie attacks me when his seed dish has chafe or empty seed shells on top of the yummy seeds under the mess.

If I don't walk by his cage a couple of times a day and shuffle the dish so the seeds come to the top of the dish SPX would die of starvation. He refuses to dig under the empty seed shells for the seeds under the chafe.

If there is chafe over his precious seeds and he wants to eat what he can't see, he will fly out of his cage screaming noisily smacking at my head over and over again pulling my hair and fly around the room giving the annoying "ACK ACK ACK angry budgie"call.

I have learned to read my budgies actions. I have learned I am at my budgies beck and call during day light hours so I can shake rattle and roll his darn seed dish. I have learned HE CONTROLS ME.

He is such a jerk. :th_biggrin: But I have to laugh about it.

My birds make me crazy, sometimes..just, sometimes. When I feel like I need to go to the loony bin, though, these are serious times!! :). Sassy goffins girl is so special, in so many ways..her soul, she wears on her wing. She can be the most loving, honest to goodness, heartfelt, real thing that you ever could think of..here on earth..BUT..only for a moment. I know it's there, I know.

Amigo makes me crazy when he gets territorial towards the men in my life, he's getting better but..still.. :(

Chip, the cockatiel, has never made me crazy :)

I really do not have these type of moments with Linnies. They are like cotton candy, always sweet.

You can share moments when they do silly things that make you laugh as well.

So please share what you like.

.....when I have tended to all her needs, give her head scratches and she still insists on screaming. I tell her I'm leaving the room till she settles down and as soon as I'm out she says "can you hear me,"

as if it's okay if I leave, as long as I can still hear her. I think she knows that if she speaks as opposed to screaming I'll come back in the room.

It's not exactly my bird and its not a pet bird but there is a robin who has plagued my neighborhood with his singing in the wee hours of the morning for months here. I'm not saying he sings at 6:30 am or 7 am, NO this robin red breast who was looking for his dream date robin red breast mate would start chirping loudly at 4am.

Everyone around the block hated him and cursed his red breast butt out, I heard more people yelling at him and slamming windows in the early hours while it was still dark.

They say its darkest just before the dawn, dawn was about 5 am but that annoying robin was not wasting a moment when it meant getting the early worm and advertising his pipes 4 am was WAKEY WAKEY TIME!

He has since shut up as he did the deed and caught the eye of a dowdy hen who he made a nest with and they soon filled the nest with chicks.

I hope he had headaches and was annoyed while he's been raising his brood of peeping robin chickies who would demand bugs and worms day and night. I hope the chicks woke him up at 4 am.

Serves him right.

She owns YOU and has you trained well, like the rest of us are owned and trained by our birds too. :)

Funny you said that because a neighbor said the same thing, I hope he had a nest of hen chickies!

When I see Tango lying on her new toys as if they were a nest I smile.

Ok..something that use to make me sad, not any more and only because it's now normal. Amigo had no bird buddies of his own species to hang with. This use to make me wonder if letting him be free was hurting him in some way. I'm all good with this, now, it is what it is and he seems to be a happy, well-adjusted cockatoo.

...when she yells O[Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks] laughs and chases one of the kids to pinch them. It actually makes me laugh. That is until she is sitting on me, pinches my neck and yells O[Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks] laughing her little red butt off. ;)

I love it when SPX is in a sweet mood and really wants my attention one on one, he will stand as close to the bars of his cage and call to me loudly, when I reply and talk to him he says "kiss kiss" and throws his head back making the smooches kiss kiss motion.

I then start saying "Kiss Kiss gimme kisses" and we carry on like this for a few minutes.

Sometimes he can melt my heart.

Rio does the ball dunking every now and then , sometimes he puts it under the water dish instead of in it , like a game of hide and seek. The food particles in water has always been there it like he eats over the water , sometime it will be empty sunflower seed shells he has even put paper in the water before?????

Rio likes keeping you on your toes and making sure all is neat and tidy in his cage. :)

One thing that always makes me smile, though, is when my blue buddy Zaf comes trotting over to me with his mohawk up while I'm lying back relaxing (always with the most adorable expression on his face) and then climbs aboard melting into my neck and chest for a fluffy cuddle session. Plus, he makes such sweet cooing sounds while doing so :D There's nothing better!

I have noticed everyday that when the microwave BEEPS a few times when it has finished its job nuking something... SPX will call to it.

Silly budgie thinks the microwave is either an odd sounding bird alllllllllll the way over on the other side of the house, or SPX knows I'm nuking something yummy to eat and he's telling me to come and share it with him.

Rosie for the most part is a great girl. But she does this lunatic babbling whenever we are on the phone long distance with a client. We've been asked if we were performing an exorcism in the background.

Rosie also makes the obnoxious crow sounds, it seems to come out of nowhere. And her high pitched beeping siren would make your eyes pop out of your head. Thankfully she doesn't do any of these very often, maybe once a month for a few minutes.

I often wonder what people must think when I am on the phone with them. The crazy babbling must be awesome, as long as your client has sense of humor!

When SPX gets on a flock calling roll for fun, I've had clients ask me how old my macaw is.

I know he's loud but seriously..... a macaw?

Ha!! SPX must have a great set of lungs!

I once had someone think we had a bad connection. I answered hello, they said hello and then Rosie said hello?. They then sounded confused and said hello! And Rosie repeated her hello. This went on a few times before I was able to intervene. Eventually, the person was completely befuddled and I was able to get a word in to explain. All the while Rosie, who was on my shoulder is still saying hello and I was trying not to giggle. Crazy bird person that I am.

Our military macaw jenny is a poop for distance type of bird. She seems to find it funny just as you walk past her to fire one off.Its not always as funny when she hits her target.I think it may be a macaw thing as two others in the house have caught on.Sometimes its like playing dodgeball. Our caique Sophie likes to grab on tight when he(yes he)is hanging out on me.He will then letgo and laugh...not always funny. Our african Grey Lexi likes to have a one sided telephone conversation every afternoon around 2.Our Eclectus Peanut has begun to fill in the gaps where the imaginary person on the other end of the call would be speaking. Its hard for any of this and so much more to drive you crazy if your already there :)

Poop Dodge Ball, the birdy game that's always giving! :th_biggrin:

I can imagine it being kind of crazy in your house at 2 with the bizarre imaginary phone conversations between the 2 chatty birds and all the others in the background.
