I will try to get one. Usually when Rosie is angry is it bc I am trying to get her off me. So it would be hard to get a pic bc we are a crazy tangle of wings, feet, hands and a big beak. ;)

Set your camera to take a short video of Rosie when you are trying to put her in her cage or elsewhere, I can take a still pic of angry bird Rosie from your video clip if you'd like.

Mare - awesome pic of Amigo. It is funny how even when angry, cockatoos are gorgeous. Does he make that deep, grumbling angry mumble when he is mad? I always find that so funny.

Tropics1989 - does Charlie tolerate others or is it just all you? Rosie is bonded to me but likes to interact with others. She doesn't really want to be touched by anyone else. With the exception of my mom or a taxi ride from anyone to me if I am ignoring her. The good thing is most people are too intimidated by the huge beak to want to touch her. She is possessive of me though. She will go as far as shoving her tongue in my ear if I am talking to company. She will also do the mohawk/lunge if she is on me and anyone comes too close. Annoying.

Kendra, I've never heard that grumble sound from Amigo. I've heard that Moluccan Cockatoos do this, not sure if it's only a Moluccan thing or what?

Mare - I am not sure if it is only a Moloccan thing. But it sure cracks me up:

Tongue in ear lol she loves you! I believe they feel competition for our affections and that is why they can get so possessive. And the lunging don't be annoyed she's telling people she's mine all mine you can't have her:th_smile:.

Charlie will actually attack. Draw blood. She's naughty lol. Charlie came from an abusive home. They broke her wing, and it eventually healed but healed broken. Charlie cannot fly, but she does attack by giving chase, if she has the ability to get to the floor. Otherwise she'll lunge or she'll pull a sneaky to lure you in then CHOMP!

For example - my mom decided she'd stand her ground one day and not run and she didn't run she stood her ground. Mind you we are on even ground at my mom business. So this is not her territory. Charlie then stopped in her tracks, looked up at her and turned around took a few steps walking away from my mom then turned back toward mom strutting and grabbed her leg. Ripped her skin and drawing blood pretty badly. You can call her bluffs but she'll give it right back ten fold. Thankfully I am her chosen one. She'd even attacked the rescuers! (I found this out later after I had been given her. Thats right I was GIVEN her. They wanted her out so bad.) They couldn't get her out of the dog crate carrier. Then I came along. Our story of how we got to know each other is cute and now she is my ultimate protector and companion.

Many people I tell this think she looks at me as a mate but this is not true. She's never once did one sexual thing towards me. I do know what that looks when birds act sexual like my sun conure ... poor louie butt rubs on every thing from my hand to toys lol. She's not laid eggs thank goodness but Ive made sure of this I did a lot of research to help Louie cope with her hormones. But not once has charlie done any thing sexual to me to her toys nothing. She regurgitates to me a lot, preens my hair, If I am sleeping on the couch she comes up and put me under her wing and sleeps with me, I was very ill for months and she stayed in my bed with me and wouldn't leave. If she had to leave it was a big fuss. If any one came close to me in my bed she would attack, wings out, beaks chomping in the air. She also loves my clothes. If I am not in the den with her and a piece of clothing is on the floor she'll go on the floor and snuggle with it, sit on it and sleep by it. If its any one else clothing you can guarantee she'll rip it and put holes in it but not mine. If my bf and I are arguing and her cage is open she's right at my side wings out, lunging. If I am crying she's right there next to me snuggling. I think Charlie actually feels love for me. She's happy and she knows I am a good person and that I love her. That Ill never hurt her like her previous home did. In fact, Ive had to return the favor of proctecting her a few times to. I believe she appreciates that and appreciates me to. Her nick name is Guard Bird at my mom business lol.

Your Rosie lunges because she is protecting you and she loves you. Try not to be annoyed. Its her birdy way of saying it:pink grin:. If charlie hadn't come named I would of named Charlie Rosie. I really like that name. It fits perfectly. I know lol people see that beak and they go Oh my haha. I say that beak could snap a broomstick and people fall over lol. Its funny you should try saying it to people:th_wink:

Oh no, your poor mom! Has she gotten over it?

I love your description of how loyal and loving Charlie is with you.

I would love to read your story with Charlie. If you ever have the time, please post it. It sounds like she had a rough start, poor baby. Good thing you found each other! I would also love to read about you protecting her. It sounds like you have such a special relationship!
