Some members may find the process of embedding YouTube videos within posts a bit confusing. I'm going to try and explain below how to easily achieve such embedding. For my example, I'm going to use the YouTube video URL for "Cookie", the 82-year-old Cockatoo.

If your YouTube video URL looks like either of the following...

[Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks]
[Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks]

then copy the 11 video ID characters (appearing after the equals sign) into your computer's/device's clipboard buffer (in this particular case you would copy the hQ_H09XyeL4 string) and append the string of characters at the end of the following URL:

[Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks]

so your final product will look like this:

[Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks]

Note that the previously existing "s" after http has been removed, as has the "[Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks]" and the "m." Also note that the last portion of the top level domain name has been changed from youtube.com to youtu.be and that the watch?v= has been removed.

Once you have the [Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks] result copied into your clipboard buffer, click the filmstrip tool button to bring up the 'Insert Video' dialog box and paste your newly created URL into its address field and then click the 'OK' button.

That's all there is to it. One alternate option is to use the
tags around your newly created YouTube video URL instead of using the filmstrip button and its dialog box. So you would type the following right into your message creation area:

[Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks]

Either of the above methods will work. If you have any questions please let me know :)
