I often look at my birds and wonder what they are thinking, I know, I know, I need to get a life. :th_biggrin:

But seriously sometimes SPX does crazy things which I know he does to get my attention so I often wonder what is going through that birds crazy noggin to make him act like this.

He gets pretty annoyed with me and its the same actions and noise which makes me think he's thinking... "I CAN'T GET TO MY SEEDS BECAUSE THERE IS CHAFE ON TOP OF THEM. CLEAN MY SEED DISH NOW! YA STOOOPID PEOPLE YOU! SHEESH!"

What do you think your bird/s would say to you if they could? :th_biggrin:

Most likely my birds would say LEAVE ME ALONE because I am home most days with them. Cute thread.

Haha! This morning Tim had Sassy with him in a rocker in the living room, he was reading a newspaper. When she is with him she wants his undivided attention. There can be no reading, no talking (except to her), especially no talking on the phone! If he dares to try any of these things while with her, it usually ends up with him getting bit..hard!

Tim set the paper down and handed Sassy some of the advertisement section which she instantly started to shred, while still in lap, and..it slipped..fell to..the floor...uh-oh.. All hell breaks loose! She starts flapping her wings at him, screaming at the top of her lungs, flying quickly from his lap to his shoulder, back to lap then chest! Tim's trying not to freak out right along with her. I watched the whole scene and I felt like if she could speak, Tim would be getting an ear full of cuss words!

Good news is, she didn't bite him :)

Lucky Tim! He got no bites but he gets to laugh at watch her rant about her loss of the paper. :th_biggrin:

I think us fidnuts = (bird owners) have gotten very smart at reading our birds actions I find it interesting how they can communicate their frustrations or anger or happiness or more to us.

When I hear someone say birds are stupid or they don't do anything but eat and poop on you. I feel sorry for these people because they just don't get it.... birds are fascinating and entertaining either big or small, its interesting trying to read them as they are nothing like a cat or dog.

Birds are a whole different ball game in feathers beak and personality!

Today SPX decided he didn't like me in another part of the house talking on the phone, the person on the other end of the phone could hear the extremely loud flock calls and asked if I had a macaw parrot. :th_biggrin:

I'm sure SPX was screaming at me complaining he was alone and not happy about it! There was probably some choice budgie swearing included in the rant and rave.

With a cockatoo they will often tell you exactly what they mean. Rosie this morning was making her horrible knocking noise. I said "Be quiet!" She responded 'Why?" I said "I'm trying to get invoicing done so I can buy bird food", her response "I love you" Now it's quiet :) Seriously!!

Zaf would say: "Hold still while I use the tip of my beak to tear away the little scabs from your arm and shoulder that I made with my toenails the other day!" :th_eek::th_shakehead:

He tells me when my Military Macaw is being LOUD - which I already know! And when he sees someone whom he doesn't recognize, he says "who's that?" He uses words and phrases quite appropriately much of the time :)

When I come from work Lady gets loud and excited so I greet her and commence my routine to get settled in and prepare her some fresh fruit. If she is to loud I will close the door so she can not see me, she will quiet down and ask " Do you hear me"?

Do you say good morning to them as you uncover their cages? Is this where they learned to say it?
