So beautiful! They are both stunning. Are Noah and Octavia bonded?

Eckies are just awesome...they are on my list of absolute favorite parrots. If Rosie and my husband weren't so anti another parrot, I would be tempted. :)

No they are brother and sister, Octavia will be sold once she is fully weaned, she is only 11 weeks old. Noah is 10 months old and waiting for one of the other pair to throw a girl so he can have a mate.

She is a beautiful bird and looks very cute. Love the pictures of her in the tree. Do they all have the "hazard zone" yellow beak tip?

Poor Noah, I hope he gets his true love sooner than later. :)

How long does it take for Eckies to wean?

Males are born with black beak which turns to yellow/orange and female born with yellow that turns completely black

Aha, they didn't mention the beaks in the film I watched about Eclectus a few weeks ago, apparently in the wild the female spends most of her time in a hole in a tree being serviced by several males. The males, not to be outdone, have several female partners whom they visit. Outrageous behaviour! :th_wink:

Mare eckies are the 2nd smartest bird only the Grey beats them and a lot of study has them on par with the GGrey . my guys have a vocabulary of around 500 words and I can have full on convos with them . they don't mimic they talk and they do lots of tricks and play games sing songs.

They sound like amazing birds, do you have any videos of them? I'd love to see them in action.

Oh please. You can also use photobucket.

Yes you can upload them onto photobucket but the larger the video takes a long long time and is often a pain in the butt when uploading to pbucket. Sometimes larger clips don't upload.
