Met A Lady At....

Petsmart yesterday who had her Cockatoo on her shoulder. We must have talked for an hour. She had such a sad story. Her other too managed to pick the cage lock and got out. Then this bird got into the cage of her precious 18 year old Sun conure and dismembered it. This happened 4 months ago. She cried as she told this story. This M2 bird was a rescue who has had 5 other homes. She made a promise she would never re home it again. Now all she can do is feed it and clean the cage. Said she could never forget the sight of her mutilated conure.
This bird belongs in a sanctuary not a pet home. I felt so sorry for her.

Oh and she had the conure since the bird was hatched and hand fed it.

Ohhh! That's such a sad story!! I feel sorry for everyone!..woman, conure and cockatoo! :(. I've always had a feeling that Amigo would be like that if he ever got the chance to be with Sassy or Chip, I'm always cautious where he is concerned.

Aww I agree, this is sad for all involved. I hope she can one day put those images to rest. It has to be hard to come to terms with what has happened.

Wish I had gotten her phone number because she needs a friend. We go to the same vet but they do not give out that information.
