Rosie decided she was getting all my attention today after work. I was not allowed to talk to anyone unless she was sitting on me and monitoring/commenting. Just one of those days I guess.

I am wiped so I was just too tired to argue when she refused to get off me as I was vacuuming her area. As I was vacuuming and Rosie was pinching and hanging off my head, the doorbell rings. I was not dressed to answer the door so Ash did while I scrambled to find something to throw over my tank top.

As I come around the corner in a ridiculous fleece coat (it is 90° but that's all I could find) I see a college kid looking for donations being accosted by my tiny dogs. Ash opened the door and left him. Sigh... With all the craziness I forgot Rosie was on my shoulder. (She refused to get off me but she kindly climbed on my head so I could put the coat on. ;) ) The kid looks at me with amazement and I am thinking he is amazed at the insanity of a woman in a heavy coat in this weather. Instead he says I LOVE your parrot. Rosie must have been flattered bc she started dancing & saying hi during his schpiel. Now he was really interested, he asked to touch her and all the usual questions ensued. So Rosie was very excited. Once I finally got him out of here she was really worked up.

We came upstairs and all seemed normal...until she pegged me while we were about to get her water. She bit my hand right between the bones that lead to the pinkie and ring finger. She nailed me so fast and so hard I just stood there with my mouth hanging open. Then the pain hit and I almost threw up. No blood, but man, does my hand hurt.

She is now on her stand in my room thinking about her evil deed. Not really, she is happily grinding her beak getting sleepy. Ugh, lesson learned. Keep my guard up when Miss Thing gets overstimulated.

Sounds like an exciting afternoon, I'm sorry to hear you got nailed by Rosie, though :(. I can just imagine the look on that kid's face, coming face to face with an Eskimo and a macaw! Sassy is our biter when she gets overstimulated..must be a bird thing. Amigo has gripped my hands/fingers SO hard with his feet that I swear I should have nerve damage. Good to know she didn't break the skin.

They seem to know just how hard to bite!
Its not a good idea to get between Casper and the Poop-off bottle when he decides it is evil and need to be killed. Just let go of it quick!

The kid looks at me with amazement and I am thinking he is amazed at the insanity of a woman in a heavy coat in this weather.Especially at a woman with a heavy coat in this weather and a big parrot on her head - that is, if you left Rosie there ;)

Sorry you got bitten hard, Kendra. It's bound to happen at times, though. Every once in a while Salsa will nail me pretty hard. Still gotta love 'em :D

It was a crazy end to a crazy day. :)

Rosie actually climbed down to her regular shoulder once I got the coat on. She gets very ornery at times and won't get off when I need to dress/undress. I have given up trying to remove her for the most part. She has become super adept at getting out of the way of shirts by climbing around and then hopping right back to HER spot. The joy of parronthood I guess. ;)

And yes, hard bites are terrible. But no damage and part of living with a big red crazy chicken. I love my crazy girl, although maybe I'm crazy. After all, I adore an ornery diva who pinches me gleefully daily, ruined my wardrobe and caused me to lose a good deal of hearing. [emoji12]
