Got a question for you. I have noticed since Kobe has friended Tango he has spoken very few human words. Do you think this is because he is more interested in her and bird talk now?

Saw a guest reading this post and then I thought humm, spiritbird How is Kobe doing with talking as of late? I have heard that some birds do find more interest in flock members and sometimes talk less. I have no link, but do believe I have read it.

He continues to talk but his vocabulary is small. Seems not to say any new words he hears. Mostly he says "hello Kobe" and "step up". Thanks for asking.

Oh and he also says "tickle, tickle, tickle" and "gimmie kiss"

I think it depends on the bird. It makes a lot of sense thatd Tango would want to talk less human and more bird however with my two they talk more. My one says words I had no idea he knew.

In the Lineated Parakeet species both sexes are known to talk human. However so far only Kobe is talking and he is the male. His personality is so different from the female Tango. He is more outgoing and interested in humans where as she is very shy and introverted. Both from different breeders. Kobe really protects her all the time. That may be part of this issue. He is the one who has curiosity about the nest box and pokes his head inside. Tango has not gone near it yet.
