He discovered Chip's old cage that I have stored on the back deck. He broke into, then confiscated the seed cup, drug it up to his outdoor cage, made a towel nest and is now,, trying to hatch it!!? He will spend hours just laying on this cup, wings covering and attending to it, he'll actually fall asleep.

I felt sorry for him and set a golf ball down, thinking it might be more comfortable.

Update: he now has the golf ball AND cup under him!

Amigo is a good egg (golfball/seedcup) Daddy! I love that he will actually fall asleep. For a guy as busy as Amigo that is pure devotion!

That is an adorable photo. Put the warning out to all female Cockatoos in your area - AMIGO IS READY!

Kobe has been trying to mate with Tango. Linnies do it differently. They sit side by side and male puts leg over female and turns to her and she turns to him and they get vents together. So far she is rejecting his attempts thank goodness.

I like seeing our birds off their feet but from what others have said about them when they are nesting, I would only say no thanks~

Dianne, are you looking to have a breeding pair of Linnie's? Sounds like they are practicing, for sure!

Alice, Sassy is also doing the nesty thing and when she is in that mode..we do NOT mess with "the" Sass! I guess Amigo thinks I'm the mother of this seed cup and golf ball. He has no problem with me getting close :)

I know nothing about breeding of birds so I have dummy eggs at the ready.

Well, Amigo is still at it. He can't hardly wait to go out in the morning so's he can continue to incubate his seed cup, the golf ball has been kicked out of his nest.

We had company, yesterday, he broke himself loose long enough to do some dive bombing of the area. I'm not worried about his behavior, though, I believe it will soon pass.

What a good Daddy!

Poor little golfball, kicked out onto the hard, cold grate. :)
