What emotions have you witnessed in your birds and how did they manifest themselves?

Oh..Gosh! Where do I start? They are always curious, ALWAYS! Fear..this one jolts my heart, don't like seeing that one. Happy, to see me or Tim and to be with us. Amigo can be aggressive towards males in my life but he is getting better about it :).

I know Daisy expressed grief by feather chewing.

Rosie expresses a whole range.

Happy anytime something fun is going on or we get home...she laughs, dances, sings and chats.

Fear is usually accompanied by screaming or flying.

Anxiety about being without me is screaming.

Excited by anything shows itself with bright pink cheeks, eye pinning and sometimes pinching. It's like she doesn't know what to do with herself.

Jealousy with Jef is screaming whenever we speak. With people she is not familiar with she yells for me and then sticks her tongue in my ear after she hops on my shoulder.

Anger is screeching, yelling, mohawk, lunging and pinching...sometimes flapping.

Pure love is purring, puffing up, kisses and cuddles. That is my favorite!!

Wow Rosie is quite the lady. You know her well.

Excitement is an easy one to see with Lady. She will bob her head up and down and screech with joy when I come home. She also does this when she knows I have something she wants albeit food or a toy.

Fear is also easy because she will back down or go to the highest part of her cage and sit real still. Unless she is startled then she will yell very loud till the object that has startled her is out of her site.

Playful is when she wants attention and she will click a few noises for me to repeat or sometimes she will move in place back and forth and repeat hi...hi...to get my attention.

Loving is when she wants to get a head scratch and she will bow her head down in front of me till I reach up to pet her.

Sleepy is when she will stand behind her favorite hanging toy and just sit just out of the light but still be able to see what is going on in case she wants to have a say in what I'm doing. She rarely goes to bed unless the light is very low and she is mostly covered.

Riley shows lots of emotion

Fear - your typical panicked animal trying to escape
Happy/excited - ANY time he sees me or someone who will give him attention he will run up to the cage bars and follow them (kinda like the whale in free willy following jesse) He likes to nibble on people and preen
Frustration/anger - screeching and "attacking" items or flapping his wings
boredom - screams
Contentment - whistles

Good thing we can read their body language.
