Your new fid is so handsome. I hope everything runs smoothly for you and bird.

Pied is when your bird is 2 colors with no pattern (for example with the pearled you see little pearls on them) and the more yellow/white a tiel has compared to the grey the heavier the pied becomes.

Goodluck and I am sure it will be an amazing animal! If you need any help at all feel free to ask:).
Yay, Riley will have a new companion. Humm, hope he wants to share that wonderful play gym you made for him once he/she gets out of quarantine :). It sounds very exciting indeed. Looking forward to seeing the pics as well.
:congrats2:

So I had a few surprises tonight when I picked him (presumably a him) up. Surprise #1 10 minutes before I was supposed to be at thier house they changed the location on me Surprise #2 they had him in a travel cage but expected to put him in one of those boxes you get when you buy a hamster (yes it was seriously that small a budgie wouldn't fit in it) thank goodness I had the sense to grab the cat carrier I bought my grandma for her kittens back in december. Surprise #3 In the 6 months they had him they never name him. Surprise #4 HE IS HUGE quite possibly the largest tiel I have ever seen he is ATLEAST twice the size of Riley. Out of all the names I had in mind I ended up naming him something completely different I named him Carolina because during the 2 hour drive home the only time he was quiet was when the song Carolina Eyes by Scotty McCreery was playing. He stepped up no problem what so ever and let me put him in his quarentine cage. Also I found out on the way home he likes french fries I gave him a small one (I also order them with no salt) and he took it no problem. He showed no signs of stress during the car ride he ate played and preened and of course chirpped the whole way home once we got home him and Riley started calling to each other. But shortly afterwards Carolina started doing some heavy pacing on the cage floor so I covered his cage for the night to let him rest.

That all sounds very promising to me. It's sad though that Carolina's previous owner may not have cared for him very much :(. Based upon your car ride description I'd say he has some great potential to adjust to new situations... so I'm sure he'll settle in quite well. Please post some pics of Carolina when you can!
Sounds like a good start!
