My Sammy U2!

Sammy came to us about 4 yrs ago. He was abandoned in an apartment. The apartment manager went to chick on the tenant because he had not been paid rent. The apartment was empty except for a rusty cage with a very thin, thirsty and hungry Umbrella cockatoo. His nails were over 2 inches long and corkscrewed. The poop in his cage was 4 inches high. A friend who runs a small bird rescue asked if I could go over and get him till a rescue could take him. Needless to say, Sammy did not leave! It took about 3 weeks for him to warm up to me. Now we are best buds!:th_heart: After about 6-8 months of battling a screaming behavior he is much better. He does have his moments though like any typical Too. The vet feels that Sammy is in his late 30s to early 40s. He is a real clown and a wonderful singer even if he doesn't know the words!:th_hehe:
