Rosie heard me cutting up an onion today and immediately starting demanding APPLE?!? I repeatedly explained I was not cutting an apple, I was cutting an onion. All attempts were met with the same response, APPLE?!? Needless to say, I put the onion aside and got the diva her apple.

I only give her a few pieces at a time, refilling as needed. Today she said Want more!?! each time she ran out. Smart girlie!

I am always amazed when people say parrots just mimic and don't understand context. Rosie absolutely knows what she is saying and what she wants. As she gets older she is getting better at using her words, just like a toddler. :)

That is funny! I agree these little creatures understand words and meanings...it's like having a 3-4 year old with wings.....

I am always amazed when people say parrots just mimic and don't understand context. Rosie absolutely knows what she is saying and what she wants.Salsa is very much the same. He uses his words quite appropriately much of the time. Like often during Maynard's screaming fits, Salsa will exclaim: "you're loud!" or "too loud!" or "he's loud!". And his inflections perfectly convey his frustration with Maynard's ear-shattering persistence.

As she gets older she is getting better at using her words, just like a toddler. :)She like a little red person :D

A little red person, that is such a cute statement. You need a Tee shirt with photo and these words on them. They are very easy to make.

She has you trained!

Tony I feel your pain my catalina macaw can be loud at sometimes and although none of my birds really talk back to her, you can tell the frustration with her being loud!
