Oh My God!!! What kind of snake is that? I bet your birds are still shaking. Thank goodness you got there when you did.

Bird eater? Egg eater? or just looking for a warm and cozy spot for a nap?

It's a coastal carpet python, yes if I went for coffee at friends place it would have been different story.

I trust you gave him a stern talking to, explaining how he never would have gotten away with it, as once he had swallowed a whole parrot he wouldn't be able to get out the way he came in because he would be too fat.
Did you take him for a nice drive in the country, leaving him far enough away that he would never be able to return? Margaret did this with a mole she caught tunneling across our lawn. The way she tells the story it was hilarious because the mole tried to escape from the biscuit tin as she was driving to the nature reserve, then the look of amazement on the people in the car park when she took him into the field and let him go, but then had to chase after him because he tried to get back to the car park.

If you don't, one of these days your birds will not be so lucky :(. I'm very glad they're okay!

Wow, I would of been freaking out as well. I don't even know how I would of removed it. So so lucky is so so true. But yes, I hope you do find some good screen to keep these types and all types of critters away from your birds. Which makes me wonder because they can come down from the trees as well. :th_faint:

They don't normally come down during the day but now they will not be left out side when I go out even if it's just to get milk.
