The last CA lottery got me thinking. The winning ticket would have given you $650 million!! Now imagine if you won about twice that, $1 billion! That kind of money is darn near unlimited, which poses the question; What would you do with the money? Would you buy land, animals, cars, houses etc.? Would you donate it?

Personally, I would retire my parents wherever they wanted, buy a nice piece of land with a good size house and build a dirt bike track. Then I'd build a huge aviary and start a sanctuary for orphaned parrots. I'd devote myself to what I love, animals. Sure, I'd buy a few toys for myself, but with that kind of money I wouldn't have to stand buy and watch parrots be neglected. I could finally save parrots, and I could give them the life they deserve. I would of course donate to other charities/rescues as well. I would love to rehabilitate parrots and give them a forever home with as much space as they want.

So what would YOU do with $1 billion?

I would do plenty with it! Lol first and top of my list would be to move to One of the islands off the coast of Maine. Buy a nice older home with all its vintage charm. I would still live in a frugal way with the exception of all the money I would spend on future birds. I would find an old African grey and rescue it, since I'm older a young one would outlive me. I'd also like a pionus or maybe a Quaker if its not illegal to own one there.

A good chunk of my money would also go to various parrot rescues. Perhaps I would even take up art again and paint my days away, painting the breath taking sea scapes and local scenery.

I'd travel too, to all the places I've wanted to visit in Europe, of course I'd need a good bird baby sitter for that but with that kind of money I wouldn't think one would be too hard to find!

Oh well, nice thought having all that money but I think I'll have to wait until my next life for that, if I could ever get so lucky!

A nice dream. I would give some money to my daughter's and two good friends. Need a new car too. Then comes a larger country home with care takers. I am too old to adopt birds unless they are seniors. I have seen this home many times in my dreams.

What if everyone had money like that? Could we all get along? Would we stop the wars, hate and crimes against humanity, the animals and the earth? I would like the world to find a new solution to money. It seems to be the root of all evil.

I know, if money had never been created we could still build everything, we could build even more actually. Building things doesn't require money, people just want money.

However, that's not what this is about. This question is purely hypothetical, forget that money ruined the world, just think what you would do with it if you had it.

I would like the world to find a new solution to money. It seems to be the root of all evil.Unfortunately, greed is an integral part of humanity. As is hatred :(. For as long as humankind thrives on this planet, I doubt either of those elements will cease to exist. When one comes into wealth, there always seem to be those who criticize how he or she uses that wealth. Might such criticism stem from envy? I'm not sure.

Something that truly bothers me is how we humans tend to embrace those with more than they need. Wealthy celebrities with physical beauty and natural talent are treated quite well by the public in terms of praise and financial contribution. Many of such celebrities already have far more than is necessary to sustain a comfortable lifestyle... yet we typically have no qualms with contributing more and more to them. Conversely, homeless folks are often ignored, mocked and criticized... and it's they who could really use the funds that we instead direct toward famous entertainers. Most folks accept this as simply the way things are... they just jump on the bandwagon. As I see it, though, there's something seriously wrong in this regard with human values!

If I came into 1 billion $, a great portion of it would fund a HUGE abused/abandoned parrot foundation and sanctuary.

I would as well take supreme care of my elderly mother for the remainder of her life (including the purchase of a new custom home for her and everything that could serve to make her life more pleasant - plus anything that she could ever want). Approximately 30 years ago my mother lost all of her assets to a family member through an act of deception. Since then, her life has been less than optimal :(

I would as well donate to as many deserving charities as possible. That's a given.

Lastly, I would make certain that I retained enough for myself to live comfortably with my beloved Macaws!

I'm very sorry about your mother Tony, it's a shame what family members can do to each other.

If I had won a billion.. I would start a few companion bird sanctuaries.. One in the Midwest one one the east coast and one on the west coast..

I would make sure that I added to some investments... To the point where I could live off of the interest of a few of my investments..that way the money didn't just run out.. With a few million.. You can generate alot of capital when plugged in to the right places...

I would personally help people in need.. No organization crap. It's a needless pull on the money.. Too many people getting paid to help people... That's not right.. Use the money and help the people.. I volunteer to help people now..

I'd help fund some charitable organizations that don't have ceo's making ridiculous salaries..

I'd try to help causes like the spyx macaw... And try to come up with a way to help secure actual "no kill" shelters for dogs and cats..

I'd help people with deformities and burn victims..

I'd be sure to do a few things I've always wanted to do.. And make sure I had something incase the bottom fell out..
