YES! Finally! Rain is in route for central Cal! It's been in the high 70's for the past few days and getting some rain, was looking like a bleak outlook:'(. It's still warm but the wind is up, the skies are cloudy, the weatherman sounds optimistic, Amigo just blew in and we can't hardly wait! YAY!

Haha here we would be cheering if the temp was in the seventies. With the wind chill, its well below freezing. I take it Amigo doesn't like the rain?

Yikes!, Jean-Pierre! Below freezing, makes me glad I live in California! :). We've been in a drought for the past few years, rain is needed!

Haha! Amigo loves the rain and would do quite well in this warm storm :). The wind gets a bit tricky for him sometimes, when it gets gusty. He's been in strong winds before and just holds on for dear life, to the branch he's on.

Snot?? :th_eek: slimy water or something in the dirt that makes the mud slimy? LOL I never heard mud described as snot.

Oooo...Alice! You've obviously never driven on "wet" clay! That is what our indigenous soil is mostly made of!

Guess your right Mare. I actually looked up the type of soil here in my city and from what I read it is called Coasta Plain. Then is goes to describe it as:

The soils of the Coastal Plains section developed in coastal sands. These soils usually have a sandy surface texture and are well drained. Because the topography is level, erosion potential is typically low. The soils contain few rock fragments but have moderate root zone available water content due to the coarse soil texture. This region has the longest and warmest growing season of Pennsylvania.

So how much snot did you end up with or is it still coming down?

Mare

Haha! Not enough to make snot, sorry to say :). Enough to keep the grass growing for the horses, though!

Wow, I was watching the weather channel, this morning, and the folks in the northeast are getting blasted with winter snowstorms! How's all our nor-easterners doing out there?

It's above my state.....missed me, but we did get freezing rain today and believe me it was dangerous enough. Plenty cold to keep the bugs at bay for a few more weeks.
