This is Sheldon and Cheynne they are residents here at the foundation. They are Moluccans Cockatoos otherwise known as Salmon Crested cockatoos. They are very loud and very smart! Just wanted to share some birdie pictures with you all:).

Aww..thank you for sharing! They are beautiful! Now, if you let them go to a home, will you insist that they go together? Just curious.

It's a shame to see such magnificent birds in captivity. Wish they were flying free with a flock in their homeland.

I think we all feel that way, Dianne. Sad thing is..will never happen. :(

Dianne the same could be said for any animal in captivity, but they are here and must be given a life:). Yes mare they are bonded under chyannes head is bald from cuddling with Sheldon. That kind of bond isn't something to break if I must say so. They do well together, Sheldon will defiantly be the more outgoing guy, Chyanne is just laid back and content.


and side note they do come out of the cage, but to get them in the same picture for facebook I did it this way. They are high energy outside of the cage and never stop moving and grooving:o.

Oh my they are beautiful~ I know your work is not easy to say the least, but to get to see such beautiful creations everyday is just so awesome to me :th_smile:. Thanks for giving us a chance to see them too.
