I think a list of Avian Vets would come in handy.

Maybe members could post their vets names, phone numbers, addresses, etc. Then a list could made of Avian vets by State. You could make it a "sticky", with one list of States in alphabetical order. Members could add the vets in their State.

I'll go first!

Great idea! I've just started a sticky thread for avian vets lists in the Health Care section. Will you please paste your vets and related lists there?

Did anyone ever use any of these avian vets ? I had a bad experience with avian vets in the past.

I think most of the Avian Vets that are listed on here are recommended by our members. The one I have listed is here in the UK and I would not go anywhere else :)

However, I've not had personal experience with any of them (since each one is approximately 3000 miles away from me). I wish there were just one ABVP-avian board certified vet available in my area, but unfortunately there is not. ABVP-avian board certification is the only assurance that a vet is highly trained, amply skilled, and adequately experienced in avian medicine. An AAV membership means nothing in this regard.

This is a great idea! I'm in Phoenix, AZ, I have a decent Avian Vet, but there were a couple things that alerted me or threw up a red flag and I don't want to ignore my intuition, but I am overprotected. If anyone has any recomended Avian Vets in the Phx AZ area, please list them. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It would be nice if more young ladies and gentlemen would be interested in this profession. Are there any bird org. that will help out with the cost of the education like grants?

Thank you so much for this. Mina's vet is not an avian vet currently. It's good to know if need be I can find one. I'll need to see where the closest is.
