Do your birds play with their food?
Orsino will take an empty sunflower seed shell, or other larger sized shell, and start playing with it after he's done eating what's inside. He'll get this little smiling-look on his face as he breaks it apart into smaller, and then smaller pieces. Then he'll get bored and scatter them across my desk...
Rosie will fling her apple pieces when she's done eating that particular tidbit.
The only one I actually think "plays" with their food would have to be the Sassy Goffin's girl. Amigo and she love the small fresh peppers I buy at the market and she likes to bite off small bits, stuff them in her wing,,catch them with her head just to roll off onto her wing so's she can stuff it in AGAIN! She'll do this for quite awhile till it drops to the bottom of her cage :)

My Rosie doesn't play with her food. She drops everything on the floor, but that's about it.
I love reading about your guys playing though.

No food playing here. Daisy grabs a hold of the greens hanging in the cage and swings while holding on to them. Is this play?
Oh Lady likes to play with shells too. Mostly almonds and brazil. She will also eat them and then spend time chewing and breaking the shells down till it looks like dirt all over the towel she sits on when eating. 2540

Zaf cracks each of his macadamia nuts and plays with their shell parts before he eats the nut kernels. Both Salsa and Maynard play with all of their food in their water bowls. Jack is the odd man out on this one ;)
