I HATE being cold and my favorite sweatshirt is a double layered one that is super thick and during an overnight shift in February when we had our "bad" snow I got told by my boss that I needed to clear a path for the guest (I worked at a hotel) and so I spent 8 hours outside shoveling what was mostly an ice (it was literally an inch thick and took my entire shift) In my uniform and favorite sweatshirt and while my legs were freezing any part of me covered by my sweatshirt was nice and warm. Afterwards I went outside in the snow with my niece and built a snowman with her and never got cold. Sadly on August 20th the zipper broke compleately making it unusable well my nieces piano teacher is also a seamstress (she also fixed the zipper on my homecoming dress in high school) replaced the zipper so now I can once again be warm. I know it shouldn't be a big deal to some people but my sweatshirts are also like a security blanket to me.

Sounds like a difficult job. I would think your employer would hire people to remove snow and ice, not you. Good to have your fav. jacket back again.

I'm glad you got your security blanket up and running, again! My most favorite piece of clothing is my ratty, red, hooded sweatshirt. It's so comfy and warm :). I could never part with it, even though some have suggested that I should, not till the house burns down with "it" in it!

Ahh, the comfy wear~ yes, mine happen to be slippers, but I do get new ones every so often .

Oh, I've got a sweater similar to that - it's not quite as heavy-duty, but it's almost literally the only thing I wore last winter outside of work. I'd die if it got ruined to the point where I couldn't patch it up, but it's the comfiest thing I own, and it looks like one of those old oversized granny sweaters (in fact I call it my granny sweater) and is just about the only thing that keeps me warm enough to function in the winter.

haha can't wear slippers everywhere though. If I go somewhere I know I'm going to be uncomfortable I always bring a sweatshirt. It wouldn't have bothered me to have to buy a new one except I JUST got this last August and it was $70 and really didnt want to have to go out and pay another $70 a year later. So instead I paid $10 to have the zipper replaced. I HATE it's replacement zipper (one of those double zippers) but since I get to have my favorite sweatshirt back I will live. I cant wear it with Riley out though as her nails constantly get caught causing her to flap her wings in the struggle to break free and she ALWAYS hits me in the eye with one of her wings.
