Green cheek conure. Old world vs New world

So I was at petsmart the other day and they have a baby green cheek. Now I can't STAND to see them sitting in those cages well plastic boxes really. So I'm thinking of adding to my flock. As usual I have a billion worries. 1 is old world vs new world thing. They say you can't mix. It not good for either bird. 2. Will Mina attack and kill it?! How do I get them use to each other. She just started eating again. These Toos they are on tenterhooks can't rock the boat lol. Should I wait? The little guy at the store is on a crappy seed diet. One toy. I feel so bad. Not at the detriment of Mina. But I always leave there worried about that bird.

Aww.. the poor little guy :(. He sure deserves to get out of there and he absolutely deserves a good, loving home! However, bringing him into your home may incite jealousy and some ensuing behavior issues in Mina. Or she may surprise you and deal with it all fairly well. There's no way to tell unless you actually go through with it. And then there's the quarantine period issue to keep Mina safe. Even after an isolation period, I wouldn't allow physical access between the two because there is a significant possibility that Mina may injure the little GCC.

I agree with plax.. But we had a macaw, a yellow nape and a sun conure before we got rain(my precious little cinnamon green cheek) she's my baby girl lol..

We keep our conures away from our large birds.. As far as our sun conure.. He doesn't like Rain.. But she needed a home.. There's a long story behind it.. But you will love a green cheek.. They're cuddle bugs and such loving little birds... As i type thisy special little bird is sleeping on my collar bone... And talking in her sleep..

Thank you guys. The cage I have has 1 inch spacing I believe. I'm hoping the little one can go in there. My problem is they will eventually have to share a room. With my parakeet Mina crawled on top of the cage puffed up as big as she could get rocked back and forth and hissed at it. Roflmbo. She looked like a Macy's day parade ballon hahaha. So after the quarantine my new baby would have to put up with so bad behavior. My parakeet went to keep my AV's cockatoo company and they love each other. Well I'm going on Wednesday so I'll see if the little cutie is there.
