Rosie does not approve of my hair

Ashie and I went for our end of summer haircuts yesterday. The pool, beach and sun kills blonde hair and it was very much needed. Ashie got about 6 inches trimmed off and looks very cute.

I felt like something different, so I gave my hairstylist permission to do whatever she thought would be good. (I do this every year or two). So she colored, highlighted and cut my hair into a short bob. I thought it looked great.

Rosie however, does not approve. In fact, I don't think she knows who I am. I read about this happening, but if didn't think much about it. She ran from me last night and yelled for me while I was standing right in front of her this morning. I hope she realizes it's me soon. Sigh...

Rosie reminds me of Salsa. But with Sals it's not a hair thing; it's a glasses thing. I have a couple pair of reading glasses here that I use for computer work (getting older sucks! :(). There's one pair in particular which I must remember to remove before I go near Salsa! If I forget and leave them on, Sals not only won't allow me to touch him, he'll as well move as far away from me as possible. Interestingly, despite how often he sees me in them, he never seems to become used to me wearing this particular pair of glasses. And I've actually owned and randomly worn the pair for quite a while. I've experimented with various other glasses and none of those seem to bother him in the slightest. I guess appearance can be rather important to these guys ;)

That is funny!! I wonder what he sees in those glasses that spooks him. Poor guy!!

I don't wear my reading glasses or sun glasses near Rosie but that is just bc she likes to chomp on them. ;)

I don't know what it is about that pair of glasses. They must make me look like a macaw-eating zombie or something ;)

Crisis averted!! As the morning went on Rosie decided that I was Mom again and said "I love you". Then I got lots of kisses!! :)

LOL Rosie said "Oh, there you are mom". Maybe it grew a millimeter in a couple of days and that changed everything. Birds are so funny. Your cut looks great Kendra.

Kendra you look great so does Rosie. Two beautiful ladies. Hair is ok with Mina but glasses and my nursing scrubs are a BIG no no. Not sure if it's because she realizes when these 2 things go on mama is leaving for work.

Kendra, I think your hair looks adorable!

When I started dying my hair, I went from blonde to a dark red-brown. Orsino kind of looked up at me, quirked his head like "who are you?" for the first minute after I'd blown my hair dry and gone to get him. All it took was one "oh hello handsome boy" from me and he came over to me and asked for a head scratch. Yes, I call him my handsome boy.

But when I have sunglasses on, I am invisible! He doesn't see mom, he only sees that sexy orange-cheeked bird in the reflection of the glasses and starts singing to it, wolf-whistling right in my ear... not like I need to hear anyways...
