So we had a rough winter here in NJ and I guess it has affected my summer plants. I lost one of my crepe myrtles and 3 hydrangeas. The others weren't blooming and I thought they were just going to skip it this year. I came out today and 1 of my myrtles and about 4 hydrangeas are blooming. Yayyyy!! The majority are still not, but I am thrilled to have any pop of color!

Anyone else have their plants affected by the past winter?

I also attached a pic of our corn. I have never grown it before and am so excited that it is coming in!! :)

Beautiful! Over here on the west side, our winter was very mild,,too mild :(. Due to not enough rain, the oaks are losing their leaves already,,this normally doesn't happen until winter. Your garden is so pretty and GREEN! I've grown corn before and it's such a joy to see the cobs form and come to fruition!

Oh wow, that is crazy. The poor trees! I never think what a dry climate would be like. Or what it would do to the vegetation. We are so darn humid here, it's hard to imagine anything else. It sounds heavenly to be in a dry climate, but I guess too much of anything isn't good!! The weather patterns have just been insane the last couple of years!!

Thanks, yes, we are generally very green. But that means rain and humidity. We haven't watered anything but the corn and other veggies this summer, and even those not daily.
