Blueberries!!!!!

Jef and I took the kids blueberry picking this morning. This is possibly my favorite part of summer. Fresh blueberry everything - yummy!!

I am not the only one that gets excited. The dogs are dancing around for blueberries. Miss Rosie is loving them too. It is so funny bc they are all just ok with store bought berries. But when I give them the fresh picked berries, they all go nutty. Happens every year! :)

They look tasty :tongue-new:. Salsa and Jack and Maynard each love blueberries, too. Zaf, OTOH, hates them. Go figure. Maybe he doesn't care for their coloring or something :indecisiveness:. I'm glad Rosie enjoys them :)

My birds and me love blueberries!! I dislike the mess of other berries though lol:p.

Its nice their in season [and not so expensive]. So we load up on them :)

The only thing that bums me out is the season is so short. Just a couple of weeks where we go. They are unbelievably sweet so the 40 min trip to the blueberry farm is well worth it. I usually go a couple of times to stock up for the year. Once with kids and once without. They get bored wayyyy before I have had my fill. :)

Maybe Zaf doesn't like them bc they are blue. Although not as pretty as his blue color.

I love blueberries. They have a blueberry festival right down the road from me. I have to go every year.

There is NOTHING so good as fresh picked fruit and veggies,,well, hardly nothing! :). What do you do with that many berries at one time? Do you jar or freeze them? Pies? I'm sure you have a bunch of stuff to do with them! I have a good friend that owns and runs a berry farm, close to me, she has blackberries and raspberries. When the kids were young, they always looked forward to berry picking season, me too!

The dogs and Rosie eat them, Jef uses them for his smoothies and I make everything I can think of. Tonight is pie and tomorrow will be muffins. We will freeze the next batch to use in the future.
