After a long day at work and a lot that needs to get done. Part of my night is always dedicated to spending time with my birds. I took my blue throated macaw lars outside to preen a tail feather and we walked up to a sitting area in the back yard. For awhile we just sat there looking out over the field bonding stronger as always. I cannot begin to describe how much this soothes my restless mind. This is my relaxing, my tranquility, and my calling. I love these guys so much they will become my whole day someday. more so then they are now.

After this I walked back inside to see who else needed some attention, to my shock with about 20 parrots most of which can be handled with the exception of a few.. They were all relaxed and really had no want to be bothered or handled. The most I got out of my happy flock was my one mini macaw koko talking up a storm in her funny little voice. The rest just happy to be loved and perching on there stands.

this kind of day is defiantly a wholesome one:).

I know the feeling you speak of, Justin. There is just something about sitting quietly with your bird that has a calming effect..a quietness of your self that ensues. Definitely a bonding experience!

That is awesome! I feel happy and relaxed just reading this.

It's funny, I find preening Rosie relaxing too. I think I enjoy it as much as she does. :)

It's wonderful that almost everyone here is lucky enough to experience bonding to such awesome, intelligent, sensitive creatures!!

I was dumbfounded when I walked in and almost all of them were just so happy not demanding anything. Im blessed that all my work on my guys paid off. I tell people my birds were the worst of the worst I don't keep the rescue that is just an amazing bird. They were the worst now I can trust them with almost anything:).
