What YOU can do to help!

So, as I am sure you all know, the board has suffered a drop in membership. Tony is so sad, you can tell he is afraid this forum will never recover! I say he is silly - let's show him that in times of trouble, even just a few people left that still care about a forum can make a difference.

How, you ask? Recruiting! There are so many opportunities to let people know about Precisely Parrots, that don't cost us a dime, and hardly any trouble! I will make an ad flyer tonight, if that is okay with management - and you can bring them to your local pet store, the vet - anywhere you might go that you would meet "bird people"! Or word of mouth works as well!

And how do we make sure we are giving these people we stop good information? Check the forum! Watch for their posts! Remember, someone with their very first finch they love like the dickens is just as valuable/needed on here as the person who has a whole flock of "the big boys"!

New bird owners really need a forum like this, many times you will be doing this person a colossal favor!

Anyone frequent other types of forums? Does your husband go on a car forum? Hit up Precisely Parrots with a link in their off topic section! :)

If I must, I will begin awarding prizes to whomever successfully brings on a new member, assuming this is allowed. Or...you could just do it as your good deed for the day. ;) But prizes do make things fun. :)

If and this is If we get members. I own a rescue and have many many stories and adventures I could easily share and would love to. I want to create a daily blog of behavioral work, silly parrots, rescue, crying, joy and much more. This would be amazing for any owner to read so support this thread and get this advantage:).

Awesome! I will bring a copy of the ad to Bird Paradise next time I go. I'll also put it on the bulletin board at the library. :)

Oh geez, you guys act like members are so hard to get. I might just work on this instead of facebooking for a half hour in the mornings, prove you all wrong. ;) I put on a trade show that gets 500 people in attendance...and do 95% of my advertising on forums. If we get members...oh, ye of little faith. :rolleyes:

I guess you will be ready to "wow" them when I get them here, then, huh? I will remember that. ;)

Anytime, Plax...here to help. I was helped out a lot in the beginning on bird forums...and this has been the nicest community I found. I want to pay some stuff forward, ya know? ;)

Flyers are a great idea, Grace! I'll definitely get some going around! Our local feed store has a bird section so I know there have got to be bird folks around! I can think of many places to pass them around to!

Okay, so it is taking a bit longer than planned...but I am almost done with the web ad. (Decided to make two...a full color web ad, and one for printing that won't kill people's printer ink!)

One thing I am having trouble with...wording. Having a bit of writer's block...maybe someone can help me by typing up a paragraph about Precisely Parrots? What the site is all about, why people should join, so on? Just a few lines...remember, short, sweet, and simple is best in advertising!!! :)

This is funny that you ask this! I was laying in bed last night wondering if we were suppose to make up our own flyers, only because we hadn't heard from you :) and I was thinking about what to put on them. These are just a few of my random thoughts:

Actually, Mare, that is really close to what I wrote!!! I must be on the right track...I hope everyone likes it! We will see what the web ad looks like in greyscale, maybe we don't need two and I am over complicating it...I have been known to do that. ;)
