Yes, very good article! I've been to a place called, "Optimum Health Institute", near San Diego, CA, I've actually been there three times..for two weeks at a time. It is a real education on why raw food is so nurturing and healing. I'm a true believer that raw, whole foods are so much more healthy than anything could ever be that's processed. Thanks for sharing this, Wendy!

Oh don't get me started on this!! I always thought pellets were more of a marketing thing. I don't think their bad and I do give my parrots some. But its a small part of their diet . I do feel bad for birds that mainly get this. Their such great eaters and enjoy their food. I feel its unfair to not give them a huge variety.

This is just like with humans.. As a person who exercises a ton.. There are supplements that I take.. But I prefer to get most of my "vital nutrition" via actual food.. It's better received.. Same for our fids

Problem is usually people don't research raw foods or diets for them or there animals and it ends up being negative. Though i do agree pellets should only be a portion of these guys diet. My guys get about 50/50 split of pellets to nuts/seeds for dry foods and then they get tons of fruits/veggies/cooked food. I do remember seeing a breeder that used a diet called the "old English diet" and his production of babies was outstanding. His diet was extremely fine tuned though... People have tried to re create it in a cheaper manner and have just produced a negative effect.. nice article and something to think about for future bird owners!
