Those are gorgeous parrots! I do hope they get the yellowwood forests thriving again and stop the massive deforestation that is going on there and in so many other places where birds of all kinds are disappearing from extinction. I watched one of the videos about their efforts it had in the article. Very interesting to watch.

I live in farming country and everyday more and more of our native Mesquite trees are being dozed down to put more land into farming production. I personally hate to see all my beloved Mesquite dissappear. I know we need farms for crop production, ours being mainly cotton & wheat, but I have noticed a great reduction in not only the bird populations in my area but also in all species of animals that used to be plentiful. I am not a fan of farm land, I'd much rather be able to look out my window and see beautiful forests, especially conifers and evergreens full of critter life! :)
