I have a question for everyone...

Hey all :)

We're planning to replace our Precisely Parrots web site banner in the near future. The process will entail either a full replacement of the current banner, or simply a replacement of the bird images against the current banner's background. As such, I'm posting to find out if there's any interest among forum members to participate in a banner creation contest?

If we in fact hold such a contest, the winning submission will become the permanent banner for our web site. Naturally, we will not hold said contest if it turns out there's little or no interest as far as participation. If there is some interest and we go forward with the process, there will be a few guidelines to follow. But again, the first step is to learn whether the idea is even worth pursuing.

Please provide some feedback concerning your feelings on the banner contest matter. The big question, of course, is: Would you participate?

Hi, i think its a great idea. I would love to participate, but i do not own photo shop. I made my signiture with that in computer class at school. But I will try using a free softwear :)

I am kind of sad to hear you are changing it, it was the first thing that impressed me when I joined. I wouldn't participate in such a contest. Not due to lack of interest, but lack of skill! But it would be fun if several members participate!

I'd like everyone to know something. It's not that we don't as well love the current banner. The problem is that certain image ownership matters have developed which, unfortunately, we're unable to get around. When we designed the current banner we had no thought of such conflicts, since none had arisen until just recently. And no, none of the images within our current banner were used without permission from their respective owners. All but three of the bird images are now the issue. We hope to get a clean start.

I wouldn't mind trying my hand at doing one, but I can't guarantee I'd get to it in a timely manner, lol.

You are more than welcome to use any of my pics for a new banner as well. I'd be honored to see my fids up there.

Tony I think it would be a great idea but I am completely computer illiterate. Hubby and I spent a couple of hours yesterday trying to load pics and we finally gave up. We need to go back and read the stickies

Keep in mind, all, that we haven't yet firmly decided there will be a contest. It's merely one possibility at this point. I do appreciate each of your comments, though! :)
