Charlie was my first special needs budgie. He had fallen at his breeders place while the breeder was out of town. He broke his hip and leg and when it healed his leg stuck out to the side. He was not vetted for this. He didn't let that slow him down any, let me tell you. He could stand by the side of the cage and hike that leg up by his ear and hold onto the bars of the cage. He had the best personality too. Like all budgies he chattered all day. If you did something he didn't like he would chew you out in budgie talk, and you knew you were in trouble with him. He was also the funniest little boy.
One day about 7 or so years ago I came in from work to find him on the bottom of his cage. I knew the instant I walked through the door. The house was just too quiet. It broke my heart to lose him. Still does.
