Because I have one [and shes so great] :) They are of interest to me . Birds are birds and still need someone to care for them [no matter where they come from]

I too have a couple of the same hybrids Terri's Harlow is~~Catalina Macaw. So I love them as much as I do my full specie Green Wing, Ruby Jewel. I won't apologize for having hybrids in my flock, but I can see how hybridizing some of the rarer species of macaw should not be encouraged.

I have seen this link, I think I looked it up after I brought my boys home in 2012 and was surprised at the many different hybrids available since the Catalinas I have are the first ones I have been around. My personal opinion is that the F1 group are the prettiest crosses as far as coloring goes. To me the F2 and F3 have too much haphazard coloring going on.

By no means was I criticizing anyone for owning one: just the practice of hybridizing endangered parrots for financial gain. There is a distinction, though the two are tied to each other
