Why is there a FB tag so near where we post? Personally I think it is in the way. When I am on PP from my Kindle I can barely post as I hit this tag often.

Not near there but on upper left of where you begin to type.

Not near there but on upper left of where you begin to type.On which type of device? On a standard PC screen both the Quick Reply and the Advanced Reply text input boxes should appear considerably below the Facebook slider - unless of course you manually scroll them way up. The only thing I can notice that's initially near the FB slider is the 'Reply to Thread' button. If you're on a mobile device, though, the layout/spatial relationships may appear somewhat different from that on a PC screen. So, Dianne, I'm not exactly sure that I know what you mean (yet). Can you perhaps scroll your text input box down to the lower portion of your screen before entering your message text? Or if I'm misunderstanding your complaint, will you please explain a bit further?

Thanks

It is OK Tony. This only happens on my Kindle which has a much smaller screen. When I start to type in the message box I usually hit the FB slider as you call it. I can deal with it and thanks for answering my questions.

Dianne -- when you are on your kindle do you enlarge the screen? I know that on my iPad if I enlarge the screen too much it gets in the way.

I'll tell you, it's not an easy chore to find a place to put a slider tab like this on a site that uses a wide page format like ours. The margins are simply too narrow. I had tried placing this slider at various locations during the testing phase... I found that each location had its drawbacks due to the proximity of other buttons and links. The upper left portion of the screen seems to be the most barren area on our pages, so that's why the slider resides there now. As Debra pointed out, adjusting your screen's magnification level (ie, the "zoom" factor) may serve as a workaround for you. With so many mobile devices, a number of different operating systems, and quite a few various browsers out there it's virtually impossible to make every feature work flawlessly on each of them :(

May I ask why we have this FB slider. Deb my Kindle screen is 7 inches and no larger or smaller. No issues when I use my lap top.

May I ask why we have this FB slider.Well, this is indeed the age of Facebook. So the slider is partly there to inspire/remind members to tell their FB friends about PP - our new members especially. It's also there to allow members to follow our activity on Facebook. It doesn't make a lot of sense to have multiple web presence that's related but isn't linked in some way.

Dianne, you are not able to enlarge and decrease your box to comment on posts by swiping your finger out or inward? That's what Debra is meaning about making your reply box smaller and the FB tab will not be caught in your cursor when you are on the left side of the box.

My Galaxy Note 3 cell phone has a 5" screen, but I can make the reply box consume the whole screen area if I swipe the screen with my fingers in an outward movement. When I am on my cell phone the FB tab will be caught by my cursor if I don't reduce the reply box with an inward swipe or it is also called a pinch motion of your fingers enough to bypass the tab. Try that Dianne and it should remedy the problem for you. :)
