In the member chat box. It's under the "Live Chat" button above. It gets lonely being the only one who checks in there. Even if no one is on at the time you're on, give a quick shout out to let us know you have been there. I usually open up two tabs with PP and put one on the "Live Chat" and use the other one to browse the forums.

Is it available in TapTalk? I never see the option here. I do see it when I use Safari though.

I'm not a big 'chat in live time' person. One of the reasons I rarely use my phone to actually talk on is cause I don't like being tied down trying to think up things to say. It's mainly for internet when I'm not at home to use my nice big computer and for texting. I'm in & out so much when I'm online, I am always multitasking, tho I don't accomplish much. So I am not at the computer the whole time I appear to be on the forum.
Anyway, I forget it is there most of the time since it is not in the open where it can be seen. I will make an effort to go over some. :)

I don't think it is available via tapatalk :(
I have tried this live chat and my security will not let it open, It says it is not signed~
Does it currently work?

Does it currently work? There are two chat options. The one that your security alerts on is most likely the IRC channel option. The ShoutBox option should work for you without generating warnings. But I should mention that since our falling out in late May over the bird protection matter, neither of the chat options have been used much (or at all in some cases) :(
Thank you for that information plax. I hope things settle soon for everyone involved. I think it would be nice to be able to chat with the folks who have left so much information for everyone to learn from.

To find out if certain members have been around recently you can look for the "Last Activity" date on their respective profile pages if you like.

Oh great thanks, I just might get around to checking out that option. But for now I am just happy to keep going through all the interesting forum topics and learning as much as I can. I have made a few entries in my blog to get me started as well as bookmarking great links that were put in post here which I have begun reading. I am currently looking about for specifics in body language. Lady would once step up for me, and I'm not sure just why she stopped so I am trying to figure out how to know by her body language that she might willing to allow me to try again. I do try every now and then but sometimes I can tell she wants to bite rather that step up. She allows me to pet her on top of her head and sometimes on the sides of her face and she will take treats from my hand.I can even grab hold of her beak...Oh let me stop, I could write a on and on and that would be bending your ear.....this is not the place....I think I will go back and read more and maybe add to the blog. Sorry I got carried away.:zipped1:

And while it's nice to have things in relevant places, the Off Topic section is for posting about nearly anything... including mixed topics :)
As for Lady, you might try keeping her treats ready so you can immediately offer her one each time she behaves in a desirable way. For example, the next time she steps up, try handing her a favorite treat while she's on your hand or arm. Also verbally praise her when she does something you like.
I'll have to check out your blog entry in a bit... at this particular moment, though, I have to tend to my own feathered ones pressing needs. I'll be back shortly.
Suggestions duly noted, thanks. The next time she steps up she will get ALL THE TREATS I have out, (jackpot for sure) and yes, praise galore. I just hope I can keep from tearing up. It has been sometime. So far this week she has, on her own come over to me, once completely on her own and today with some coaxing. Once she was on the same blanket as I was I praised her and offered her some of her favorite wood toys which I keep with me whenever I hangout with her. Then I quickly got an apple and started eating it. Oh that got her to move on in even closer. She likes to eat whatever I have. We shared the apple till is was gone then she headed for her cage. I didn't want her to go so soon but I also didn't want to push my luck. Better ending on a happy note than a not so happy one!

And I too am a firm believer in ending on a happy note (whenever that's an option) :)
I had a look at your first blog entry... and I think you're off to a great start! :th_biggrin:

Macs like to be in the center of things, they don't like being ignored so use that to your advantage.
The first time I met Donovan he was curious about me because I was giving him attention and not (totally) afraid when he would hit the cage bars with his beak. I brought a few toys along but to find out he was deathly afraid of them. Last one I tried was a cloth type ball that he could grab on easily but he was still not interested. I started tossing it in the air but still no go. I started getting tired and sat on the floor still tossing the ball in the air. Maybe a little interest but when I turned my back to him and leaned up against the cage THAT had his attention. He came down to the bottom of the cage and with either his beak or maybe the foot he messed with my hair. I HAD HIS ATTENTION. Soon he stepped up on my arm which I moved to my leg where he then stepped down onto my leg.
With Kalea, when she is on this rope swing she has and she doesn't want to come to me, if I start looking out the patio door (stand is right next to it) and sort of stick up my arm back to the swing, it won't be long before she steps onto my arm because I am ignoring her and she wants to see what it is I am looking at.
Same with Donovan, if he isn't interested in stepping up for me, I have turned my back to him, lift up my elbow to the perch and wait for him to step onto me.
Ignore a Mac and they will come.
Thank you both, I am feeling really good about today's session. And the idea of ignoring her sounds like something I will have to work on. I always find myself checking up on her especially when she is being so quiet. Often when she is in her cage she is making some type of noises.
It is funny you mentioned your hair, I sometimes put my head right up to her and she will mess with my hair. :th_biggrin:

Yes, once in a while they will grab some hair and play with it. Just remember, they can't go playing in there if you use hair sprays or gels or anything. Not healthy or could even be deadly for them.
I will for sure keep that in mind. I must say tho, I'm a "plain jane" most of the time. Even the boys (our cats) will play with my hair. I would think you guys would find it funny if I could get a pic of how they use their paws to grab hold of my head and commence making my hair style into one of their liking. Good for me it is short and takes no time to wash and dry.:th_hehe:

You need to be extremely careful then that the cat's don't play with your hair and then allow Lady to play in it. Cats have a nasty on their paws (who out there has the name of it?) and one little swipe with a paw will kill a bird. Now if the cat is playing with the hair I would think some of that stuff would come off and if your little baby birdie plays in the hair and it has not been washed, that stuff will get into the birds system and I would think it could still die but I might be wrong. When you have birds along with dogs and/or cats you have to be ever so vigilant of these things.

Oh you guys are the greatest, Thanks for that information, I was not aware it could be so deadly! I will be sure and wash my hair extra. Maybe twice to be sure I get it really clean.
Gee as I re read this thread it looks like I totally changed the subject, sorry about that.
I am here today to bring attention to the chat room to the newer folks who may be interested in some live chatting. We could even discuss if anyone has a specific day or evening time that is best for them to come on and maybe some of us who like to chat in real time can have a visit :).
Again, this is just a reminder and a check this out for the new members~~
