So I must have Dr Jeck and Mrs Hyde living in a cage in my house! That has to be the answer I tell myself uhm maybe I'll write a book. Take loving bird out so loving nice says "I love you you x 3 wow I think I'm pretty special today!! Crawls in my lap for head rubs LOTS. More I love yous. What a great day. Then IT happens. She lifts the wingy and wants rubbed under it oooo noooo!! My first feeling something is wrong. So I am cleaning her cage and she strikes crawls on my back and bites me 3 times!!! Gets me pretty bad. Ok Mina I get it it's spring. Do I own a bird or a cobra? I no longer trust I love yous till the summer 😢

I feel for you and am sorry that I got a chuckle out of the visual I got of the two of you. I'm right there with you with Lucy. Although things are finally getting better. I still can't touch her but she hasn't growled at me in about two weeks or so.

Kim, could Mina be being cage aggressive? Do you think she was like that because you were messing with her cage? Sassy is TERRIBLE to have around when cage cleaning time is going on! :th_scared3: She can be a beast and I won't even attempt it if she is in the same room!

Oh Josie went CRAZY today when I cleaned her cage. I don't remember her ever getting this out of hand when I've cleaned it. I was actually a little nervous about putting her back in. I showed her where the nuts were going so she handled it pretty well in the end. Spring is upon us.

On a happier note, she has my whole house smelling like cookies ...that seems to be her 'happy' smell. Lol

Mi Amigo doesn't get "mean" aggressive in the spring, he gets aggressively,,amorous. This can be VERY scary if you are the object of his intentions :)

She was never cage aggressive before but now with spring she may be. I just got a bad bite on the finger today totally my fault for taking the happy ball after she was playing with it like she was a hawk and it was a vole or something. My daughter yelled down to my husband " daddy bird woman down again come now". Hahaha. It's ok Debra I'm glad you got a chuckle out of it as well as everyone else. I'm just going to increase her sleep time and do what you said before Mare and put her to bed around 6 here. If that doesn't work ummmm large amounts of Valium for me and chamomile drops for her.

Why is your house smelling like cookies? I wish that was Mina's happy smell. Hers is pin nuts😝

Kim, I think twelve hours of darkness is key for birds that you are not wanting to go into breeding mode. I try, with mine, but they still tend to have their own agenda! Birds, will be birds :)

Thanks Mare. I think I'm going to up her sleep to 14 at least for a few weeks. It can't hurt and I figure with her being sick it can also help.

Mine are in that 'Impish Stage' too around here. Roscoe doesn't care to come out of his enclosure most of the time. he will climb on his door and act as if he does only to entice me to offer my arm just so he can pinch it while repeating, "Roscoe, Stop It!" "Stop It, Roscoe!" LOL It is funny to hear him scold himself, but I have to keep from laughing when he is in the process of pinching my bicep. :( Then all of a sudden he is back to his sweet self.

I can not at all clean Roscoe's enclosure with him in it. I can walk in it to get his bowls if he is munching on a pistachio, but I best be quick! And heaven forbid I should add a toy while "Sir Full of Himself" is in there!! :th_eek:

De'Andrea I love the way you describe Roscoe. I makes me laugh. I can just see him strutting around almost with his chest puffed out.
