I am creating this thread for members to voice whatevers. It is on another forum and took off. Reading this should be interesting with multi members participating.

Here is a short list of things that tick me off so to speak

Really dislike people who expose their birds to predators in the home.
Really dislike people who tail gate you while driving.
Really dislike people who yell and scream at you instead of speaking at a reasonable level.
Really cannot deal with violent people that beat and hit other people. Especially their spouses.

I dislike the conversation that two boys on my bus had this week that made a girl uncomfortable (sexually explicit).
I am glad that those same boys got suspended off my bus for 5 days.

The content of this thread does not have to be dislikes only.
I love birds wild and companion.
Today I watched puppy play time at Petco where I work and it really puts you in a good mood. The love it and so do the owners because they can go home and get something done because puppy is so tired.

I like that it's my birthday month and many vendors have sent me cards for $$ off of products in their store or even free products. Just spent less than $60 and came home with a boatload of stuff and I still have to go to the shoe store!

I really dislike folks who gossip about others in a way that causes strife in the work place.
I really dislike liars!
I really dislike thieves and drug addicts. And criminals in general!
I really dislike bullies who were bullies as children and never outgrew the habit. So they think bullying folks they feel are inferior to them is cool! Hubby has had some trouble with this lately at work. Wonder why they never treat me that way? :)
I really dislike fake people who pretend to be your friend!

I'm liking this sunny weather we're having right now after a weekend of gloomy weather. This isn't supposed to last unfortunately so I'll enjoy it while it lasts!

I am still feeding Itsy and Bursts, the does, and they are still pathetically thin. I let a melon get too ripe, not on purpose, so I put it out for them cut up. Well, they walked right by. Watched a beautiful crow today also. He or she was so gorgeous. Shiny black feathers and beak.

I dislike people who withhold food from PARROTS !! Including any place you see them doing tricks . The don't let them eat all day [so the will do their trick for a treat].

Right now, I am liking hydrocodone, Pennsaid solution, Icy-Hot cream and my heating pad. My back is hurting me again and these help me make it through the day.

Dianne, there are training videos and books around that encourage withholding food from your parrot so when you teach them tricks they are eager to do them cause they are hungry for the tiny treat you are offering. Not my kind of idea of having a healthy happy bird at all.

And I don't care how much my flock has just ate or what time of the day, Roscoe & Angel never turn down a pistachio or piece of biscuit. I don't have to starve mine to be able to use food as a rewarding treat. My flock has food at all times available, I don't want them to go hungry~~ever!!

I like that it is less than 3 hrs til I can head for home to my flock and my comfy bed!! :)

Debra

Training books actually tell people to not feed their parrots so they will learn the tricks for a bite of food? That's crazy! The only time my flock doesn't have food is at night when we tuck them into bed. From 7:00 to 4:30 am. When I get up I go to the potty (sorry TMI) and then run to uncover and feed them their pellets until their fresh food is ready. I don't leave food overnight due to ants. I don't want to attract anything unwanted.

To me, not feeding your parrot (or any animal for that manner) just so you can train them is irresponsible.

I too dislike bullies.

I dislike cruelty and cruel people in general.

I dislike those who feel that animals are less important than humans and that they thus shouldn't be afforded the same rights and protections as humans.

I dislike those who hold the moronic belief that animals don't feel pain.

I dislike selfish people, such as those without empathy for others; I especially dislike those without empathy for animals!

I dislike the fact that this planet is dominated by humans and that man issues the rights to other species, and ultimately decides which species or which individual creatures matter, and which species or which individual creatures are expendable or should be eliminated "for the greater good" (usually for the benefit of man).

I dislike unnecessarily bossy people.

I dislike arrogance.

I dislike those who condemn, ostracize or otherwise exclude others from social inclusion.

I dislike those who speak negatively of others behind their backs.

I dislike those who believe that sensitivity is a flaw or weakness.

I dislike it when someone will not take a stance on behaviors that are harmful to others (certainly including to animals) but who would rather ignore such situations or, worse yet, who tend to endorse those harmful behaviors in order to be accepted by the group of individuals who supports them.

I dislike people who ignore probability when it comes to placing others at risk (especially when those others are pets or children).

I dislike phoniness.

I guess Spring is finally here. We have blooms everywhere from the bulbs. I suffer from allergies in the Spring as many others do. Yesterday I worked (Easter) and there were so few customers I was dusting the shelves. Well that was a mistake because in about 15 min. I was coughing up a storm and had to go outside so others would not be concerned and call medical emergency.

I am looking into moving This past winter we had ice on the ground and absolutely no salt for the renters. To me this is unacceptable. I am now considering a senior apt. complex and may share living space with my adopted brother. He is a member here also.

Oh, Dianne! I wish you well with a move. I so hate doing that. I cannot imagine moving with birds. I hear ya on the allergies. I have constant drainage both out my nose and down my throat. The down the throat thing is worse. I start allergy shots Thursday. Not really looking forward to that. All I showed allergy to was cedar and that was a severe reaction. I live in the country and we have lots of cedar and pines. So no relief at all.

Your brother is a member of this forum? Who is it?

It is sad to watch someone be taken by cancer.
It is wonderful to be able to spend time with that person and be a helpful vehicle with helping their journey be peaceful and comfortable.

It is sad when the depression becomes that dark shroud that disrupts your life.
It is wonderful when your parrot lands on your chest, gets into your face and tells you in a very sweet loving voice "I love you."

It is sad when your life is reduced to not being able to meet your basic survival needs.
It is wonderful to be able to start totally over and have the control to begin the way you want to.

It is sad when cancer takes your health, gain a large amount of weight and have further health complications that hinder your life.
It is wonderful to survive cancer and finally win the battle of ill health, loose the weight, look completely different and be able to feel GREAT!
