Rosie and Her Frienemy the Rope

Rosie has never loved playing with her toys. She will chomp wood toys but never seems super excited about it.

About a month ago we put a tv in our formal living room which is attached to the dining room, aka Rosie's room. This was so she would have something to watch when I am out and also for a change of venue for the humans. Since the change, she has been spending some time playing on and in her cage when we are in the adjoining room. I have noticed her becoming more coordinated and she has been throwing balls out of her cage for me to retrieve. ;)

For the last week or so she has forged a love/hate relationship with a rope that hangs in her cage. She will grab onto it and take it with her when moving around. Then it is her friend. But out of the blue she will start growling and screeching at it while displaying her very scary Mohawk and biting it. A few seconds later she is back to loving the rope again.

I am so happy that she is finally starting to interact with her toys. Even if she does have to tell them who is boss now and then. Funny girl!

Not from my Ruby Jewel tho, except with the not too keen on chewing her toys part. She will climb on her ropes some and climbs all over upside down on her roof wire inside her enclosure. But Roscoe is my rope killer and he loves his ropes! He loves to climb up & down them, hang from them with one claw. He loves them looped in a swing sort of way and he chews on them. But there is one right by the door that he loves to take hold of and talk to, nuzzle up to and beat the crap out of. LOL He is like that with one minute he is loving it and the next he is literally screaming his words at it, hanging upside down from it & kicking it away from him with the free foot. It si a super funny sight and the more I comment and watch, the more he gets into the fight with it. Yep, Rosie's rope frienemy sessions are so familiar. :)

Wow, they are similar!! So funny! The love/hate thing cracks me up.

When she first started with the growling/yelling I kept running over to see what was wrong. Now that I know what is going on I do egg her on. Lol. I tell her to get that crazy rope and she goes right over and fights with it. She seems to like the audience and I have so much fun watching her crazy antics! I would love to see/hear Roscoe screaming his words and kicking his rope. That must be hysterical!!! :)
