Jester's is nothing special. Just a normal old play stand.

Wendi to be honest the 3 rehomes/rescues don't really want one on one so they allow more time with the 2 iv had from youngsters :)
Kevin the conure is easy in comparison :) he a lovely little character and easily pleased/amused x x

I don't have play "stands" for my birds. I'm thing of making one for Chip, the cockatiel, he might actually be the one bird that would love to hang out on one!

This is Amigo's play stand,

Absolutely love Amigo's tree. Are you not afraid of hawks and the like? I always worry about my pets being outside. My niece on the other hand thinks that everyone should be free.

This is the play stand that I made yesterday. Toys are on the way.[Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks] I made it with a pvc pipe half filled with concrete for weight at the bottom, a water heater tray, branches, and used the the wheels of an old office chair that I got at goodwill for six bucks.

Your play stand is awesome, Lori! I can just imagine it with toys hanging from it :). Yes, I do worry about hawks with Amigo being free like that. Anything could happen but he is VERY aware of what's going on around and above him. First sign of a hawk and he is sounding his alarm call and heading for cover!

It's really neat to see him like that Mare. I think he has the coolest play stand of them all. :) I love Sassy's play stand as well.

He will be in seventh heaven once you put some toys on for him! You won't hear a peep out of him. lol.

Has anyone seen the Mango Pet Traveler play stand. We are likely going to take our bird camping with us this season and I've been looking for a compact stand.

I hadn't seen them before. But I just looked them up. They have some cool ones. Does the bottom fold up?

I want a play stand, but I wouldn't know where to start... I saw some java ones but they were $1,000-1,500 that is more than my birds hehe. :P

I just made mine out of pvc pipe a few weeks ago it. Only spend $35-$40 for all the piping, connectors, caps, and jute twine.

I will probably have my hubby make me one, he made a single perch so I could sit near Ruby when I am on my PC, plus I read the reviews for those expensive java ones and some folks said it was wobbly and the wood was too slick. I will have my hubby to build me my own wooden play stand with multiple branches and hang some more toys for them so they can explore. :) - No harm in building our own hehe.

If you decide you want a java stand, check around. Those prices you saw are astronomical. I got Rosie's for MUCH less and I got a bigger one bc she is big.

Okay thanks for the heads up, I felt like 1.5 thousand was really a lot for a wooden stand. :P

Oh yes, that is crazy. BP has them with free shipping starting at $384
[Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks]
The bigger the tree the more expensive. They generally have coupons so you may be able to get 20% - 30% off.

If you wanted a tabletop java tree (like the one I have in our bathroom for Rosie) they have those as well.

These are the current play stands. The big ones stay in their bird room. The smaller ones are used everywhere else.

Wow who made those beauties?

The large ones (5x7 & 6x7) my husband and myself made them from mostly Dragonwood perches and Douglas Fir 4x4's. The Sandblasted Manzanita stands were made by Rich at: [Users must be registered and logged in to view attached photos or hyperlinks]

Oh yeah, those paper rolls make the big stands possible. I wouldn't want to do a stand that size with newspaper, ugh! Thanks!

I can see that your paper roll dispenser is a mostly accommodating system. I say "mostly accommodating" only because I can also see a single sheet of newspaper draped over the edge underneath one of the perches that's beyond the footprint ;). All in all, though, you've built some most impressive macaw structures there :D

Wow those are amazing. I like your paper roll on the bottom, that's great that your birds don't bother with it, mine would probably shred it to pieces!
