Hello Precisely Parrots-friends,

I'm sorry due lack of time I am not very active at the forum.

Tuesday the 18th. of March I made a video of my CAG Alex feeding my U2 Maxi! This behaviour takes place almost every day and sometimes more then once.
I've heard from so many bird-people that this is soooooo special and rare.
U2 Maxi (female) & CAG Alex (male) grew up together since Maxi was 7 weeks. Alex is about 5 days younger then Maxi. They share a cage.

I am looking forward at your feedback on this video!

I had to call my Pyrrhura Kiwi twice because she was damaging the plastic clip on which the bath hangs at the outside of the aviary.

Greetings from the Netherlands,
Rita

There are many birds living in cross-species bliss all over the world, and it looks like you have a pair that love each other. Generally speaking birds of different species will not breed. It is nice to see a "happy parrot home" and you have done a good job with them.

Wow! That is special! How often does this happen during the day? I am imagining Alex eating all day to feed Maxi, who won't eat from a bowl and Alex being hungry, himself, all the time!! I'm sure that's not the way it goes, just my imagination running wild! :)

Hello Mare,

No, that's not how it goes. Your imagination indeed is running wild. LOL!
Alex always is faster when it comes to eating food, especially fruits.
When he has finished his fruit-piece, he looks at Maxi.
Often she's still bussy eating hers, but that goes slow.
Then Alex tries to steal her food. Sometime she allows him to do that.
And then a short time later Alex wants to feed her.
Especially banana is fruit that he loves to feed to Maxi almost right after he has eten that.

It's not always this way. Sometimes Maxi starts to beg for food and he decides to feed her.
Alex loves to feed Maxi because then she accepts his dominance over her. And Alex, being a male, loves to be the dominant one.

Greetings,
Rita
